Actually Gandalf isn't frail at all. His appearance as an elderly man is a disguise. He is a lesser god like being, a Maia, real name Olorin, sent to earth to protect the world from Sauron (another Maia) and his appearance is chosen so as not to intimidate or frighten those he is there to help.

The only times in the entire LOTR story that he is any danger are when he goes up against other Maia, i.e. Saruman and the Balrog. Even when he passes away after battling the balrog he is returned to earth as Gandalf the White, with even more power.

All Vader brings to the party is a throat squeezing trick which only works on people with weak minds and a lightsabre.

Gandalf would make him his b****.

It needs to happen. We've had Alien vs Predator and all the superheroes seem to be meeting up in one way or another. We need Lord of the Stars. Vader shows up with yet another Deathstar to destroy Middle-Earth and Gandalf brings the Fellowship out of retirement to do battle. Would be epic.
