There's a thread explaining how the Youtube tags work on General Discussion.

Re: Yank-ball
Your thread inspired the sticky .
Also, I've never watched a single American Football game in my life. I don't know the first thing about it, care to explain the extreme basics?

Re: Yank-ball
4 attempts to move 10 yards
you can either have the quarterback (thrower) throw the ball or he can hand it off to another player and gain yards
touchdowns 5 points
kick after td 1
open play after td 2 (only 1 attempt)
kick as a attempt 3
you have a attacking team playing a defensive team then they swap
for example A-attack vs B-defense then A-defense vs B-attack
a 80 min game lasts nearly 4 hours due to team changes and commercials

This sounds really boring as a game Each to their own though!Sammy's Teckers V2 wrote:4 attempts to move 10 yards

I've watched it a few times (mostly just the Superbowl though) and it just seems like the game was made for advertising. There are an obscene amount of breaks. Although saying that, i do enjoy watching it when the ball's in play and the game is...well...actually being played.

Looking forward to the SuperBowl this year as I've been a NY Giants fan since 1979.
Used to live near NY City as a kid and we'd go and watch all the home games at the Meadowlands.
Booked off work this Monday to sleep.

Re: Yank-ball
That touchdown with the guy front flipping over the defender is incredible
Re: Yank-ball
I just want the patriots to lose. Seeing Brady cry makes me happy.overseasTOON wrote:Looking forward to the SuperBowl this year as I've been a NY Giants fan since 1979.

Gazidis Out!
Forget Giroud, sign Lewandowski
Re: Yank-ball
The sport could be incredible if it wasn't so damn slow. It is ridiculous that they actually have commercial breaks in the stadium. Imagine if every goal kick play stopped for 5 minutes, and we all had to just sit in the stadium waiting.
Having said that, I live in Connecticut part time, so am a Patriots fan. Kyle and OT, your comments have been noted.

Only really watch super-bowl with mates, but I look forward more to the banter and alcohol then the game itself... So will be watching tomorrow..
If I had to pick between Giants and Patriots, would have to be Giants as Im of the understanding that they are the under-dog!
Whats scheduled to happen at the half time show?

Re: Yank-ball
For those watching, what do you recommend, BBC, or Sky for the best coverage?
