This is quite simple.

God, is simply a made up character devised by a group of marketers who were looking for a 'figure head' to be the face of a new product called 'Life'.

Much like Mr. Muscle who doesn't really appear in your kitchen and wink at you when you've finished mopping the floor, neither does really God 'watch' over you when you're doing mundane every day things.

Therefore, Earth existed well before God. Marketers created the Earth.

The reason for the existence of God was because the potential consumers that 'Life' was aimed at were far to busy smiting and begatting each other to really monetise any of the other ancillary products that went with 'Life' such as Payment Protection Insurance so the marketers came up with a 10 point advertising plan beginning with eradicating smiting and begatting so the launched the "Be good to one another campaign" and the rest is history.

Didnt want to make a thread about this so ill put it in here

Ive always been tolerant of religion but im no believer in anything, though i do like to get educated about things purely out of interest.

currently Ive been focusing on Islam, i have a lot of Muslim friends and i always chat with them about their religion and i used to have a lot of respect for it, but recently Ive been getting a little deeper into it, now wishing i hadn't as im really starting to dislike some of the teachings ive been told about. ive been left thinking that some of my friends have become pretty much slaves to their religion, ive been told so many dos and dont's that they cannot do, some make sense and others sound like complete lunacy.

nearly upset one of my friends the other day for saying that i personally found certain views very archaic and got told i can never understand islam because im not muslim, i know the internet isnt reliable but to gain more info i looked at some muslim advice sites that are knocking around and i found many of the "teachers" very arrogant, one common thing i came across were how many people where telling the posters they are doing evil and are in the wrong yet are quick to tell them only god can judge them yet everyone else seems like they have the right to.

always thought it was a peaceful religion, but seems to be ran on fear, to me that seems like its more hostile than peaceful

been left very disappointed by it all

So what you're saying is that God is Barry Scott?

i imagine that we will have ww3 soon wiping out all civilization and knocking the human race back to square one and make us nomadic people. 3000 years will pass then some mutant child will find the remnants of a Twilight book or 50 shades and from there a new religion will be born.

I think science needs to take science back, we need vast amounts of wealth to take over the planet and then deny every religious person from using or benefiting from anything that came about via science.

i think that's fair

God does not exist.

A God might exist, but if he does exist, he doesn't really give a s*** about us. He just created us for his own amusement.

So. If God does exist then we are merely playthings to him as he feeds us scraps of joy and despondancy.

Reminds me of supporting Newcastle.

Very poor conclusion though. It puts the thought straight back into the subjective hands of somebody who may have been slightly opened up otherwise. Which religious person doesn't think their religion helps people, makes them happy and gives them a good understanding of the universe? They wouldn't be arsed about it otherwise.
