I'd say The Bends is a good album of its time. The likes of Kid A (an album made only 5 years later) sound far less dated today and will likely sound fresh in another decade still.

I'm pretty sure (90%) that i saw Thom Yorke at Gatwick Airport before. He had the long hair, the hat and the guitar and looked a hell of a lot like him!

One of the greatest bands of their era.

I honestly wouldn't say that they are overrated at all. I think if any band in the public eye is deserving of that sort of attention, it's the likes of them. Their influences and compositional style show a real knowledge of music, they aren't afraid to experiment, take pride in those influences and use them well; and of course they've written a lot of just plain old great songs too. Even if I didn't like their music I'd probably be pleased that they were at least doing all the above and getting mass attention for it.

You unfortunately need banal roots on which to build such a career as a band; that is how you get noticed in the first place. It's just good to know that there are bands out there who aren't content in releasing the same album over and over and who aren't content in making an album that can be very easily categorised alongside thousands of other popular music albums.

I do not think they are bad or anything; I do like them. I just do not think they are this deity of music that some people make them out to be.

Indeed, all bands have their fanboys unfortunately. The worst I've come across are Tool fanboys; biggest morons alive.

I once stood next to Big Brother winner Pete Bennett as Glasgow train station.

Seems a good place to see celebrities then! I imagine it's easier to realise somebody's Pete Bennett than that they're Thom Yorke though.

I've looked at recent pictures of him and decided that i did indeed see Thom Yorke at Gatwick airport though <ok>

I found that out the hard way by saying I thought a Tool song was fairly average, even though I enjoyed it <yikes>

Average?! Idiot. Didn't you know Tool invented time signatures? You obviously just don't understand them, it takes time to full comprehend Tool because they're so complex. It's a well known fact that no matter what you recommend, I can tell you about a superior track by Tool. Elvin Jones? Who the f*** is he? I think you spelled Danny Carey wrong.. he is the best drummer of the 20th Century, you see. <erm>

Nutted some little Paramore fanboy at a concert for hitting me in the back of the head when I'd asked him to stop before the support had even come out, So I nutted him, he fell to the floor looked around like a baby does before they start crying and disappeared somewhere into the crowd <laugh>

I've seen so many fights in mosh pits where some kid thinks its all about going around and just hitting people, and then promptly gets knocked out.
