I hope you are right but I can't see it happening. Spurs are desperate to lose to avoid the Europa League and Hull are desperate to win to avoid relegation. I can only see one team being up for it and that is Hull sadly.Juliet Papa Golf wrote:Spurs will beat HullTJR wrote:
Hull will beat Spurs. Spurs and Southampton have been deliberately losing of late to avoid the Europa League. Spurs really don't want it as it'll stop them challenging for top 4 next season so they'll lose their remaining games.
Newcastle Utd 1 - 1 West Brom - 09/05/15

I agree that Spurs won't be up for it, but they have Harry Kane going for golden boot and Hull are dreadful. I think they might get a point there, but Brucie always loses at Old Trafford. Hull are probably going down.TJR wrote:I hope you are right but I can't see it happening. Spurs are desperate to lose to avoid the Europa League and Hull are desperate to win to avoid relegation. They must have had 6 players over 6', he probably just drew the short straw.

the thing I don't get is that carver is a poor coach never mind a manager. How long now have we been watching the same poor application of footballing basics. Just what do they actually do in training coz it never gets any better.ok today was an improvement But still the simple things are not being done.

Tackling is the one that pisses me off the most. Our players are simply incapable of putting in a tackle yet get dispossessed multiple times per game themselves .Guest wrote:the thing I don't get is that carver is a poor coach never mind a manager. Well i've woken up this morning feeling a lot better about our survival chances than I did this time yesterday. Yes Hull and Sunderland have switched places in how I thought this was going to go down and ideally that's not what we would have wanted but we have to look after number 1 first and Burnley did us a solid yesterday. I actually think the mackems have 3, possibly 4 points left in them this season, so as long as we do our bit, we can go back to doing what we do best next season, losing both derbies and hoping for a Shiekh that will never come.
If Hull do go down perhaps we can give Carver a microphone and let him serenade us as they did back in 09.

I'd rather stick with Ashley than have a sheikh.
Let the Sky millions roar the team home. Let the bulging cash account suck a goal into the Gallowgate net when it’s most needed.
I’m out; let them sink or swim without me, for the near future at least.

Yeah, look at what it's done to Man City and PSG.....Star-Lord Mehdi wrote:I'd rather stick with Ashley than have a sheikh.

Potentially got them into a lot of trouble with UEFA?hoofball wrote:Yeah, look at what it's done to Man City and PSG.....Star-Lord Mehdi wrote:I'd rather stick with Ashley than have a sheikh.
Let's face it, if Newcastle got a billionaire owner, we'd still f*** it up and not win anything.

The days of rich owners taking over clubs and injecting shitloads of cash are pretty much over.

I mean a one that would actually spend any money. We'd probably finish 10th with a side worth £300m.P.T.N wrote:The sad thing is... we do have a Billionaire ownerbiggeordiedave wrote:

Okay so on reflection I might have meant any new owner in general rather than Sheikhs specifically, the main bit of my post was that I think we'll stay up, but whatever provides debate I suppose.

Improved the fans lot. I'd rather be watching Costa and Hazard than Riv and Sammy. As for Man City the Arabs have taken them from nowhere to somewhere. Anyone who'd rather Ashley was in charge needs a good shaking.
Ashley tells you it's raining. Do you look out the window?

Great examples of clubs that have had a rich injection, but there are a few other clubs who have only added drama with rich takeovers...here's looking at you QPR, etc. If there's a football loving sheikh out there who wants to throw money down a hole, why doesn't he own a club already? There are only so many people on earth wanting or able to do a Man City or PSG. Don't get me wrong, I want a different owner, for a host of reasons, I just don't think it will be easy to find one.Holystone... wrote:...hoofball wrote:
