Didn't know there was a remake. I'll make sure to avoid it now I do.

It's just kinda predictable, the violent rise followed by alienating everyone cos of the power. It's stylish I guess but nothing surprised me. I wasn't shocked by the chainsaw scene, just kinda happened. Dunno, maybe I've seen too many films with a 'brooding, quiet' man character, who is just someone who doesn't say much until really angry.
Its not a bad film as per Drive (completely style over substance, main character so dull)

I agree with your comments. But also I think by that stage I had already seen too many angry, brooding, shouty Al Pacino performances. He is like Dicaprio, it is pretty much all they do.

As for Drive, has to be up there as most overrated (or over-awarded) film in history.

Looking at new tv series to start watching. Quite a few that people rave about that I've never seen. 2 of them which I can binge on sky at the moment are the wire and walking dead? Any suggestions?

The walking dead gets a bit boring if you're binge watching it as a lot of the episodes are a bit samey (so it's fine if you watch it one episode a week but watching it every day gets a bit mundane). Never seen the wire but heard it's good.

Just binged the series to date after seeing this and realising it was a Donald Glover thing <awe>

That shooting range scene was brilliant, loved that they had one of the targets with a gunman taking someone hostage and it showed the kill areas for the hostage as well <laugh>

I'd recommend The Walking Dead. A few episodes can be a bit slow but when binge watching it really doesn't seem that way.

I never found that with TWD, and I was watching 5 or 6 a day at one point.

It appeals to my sense of humour and I think you would probably enjoy it. Typical Seth Rogen/Evan Goldberg stuff really.
