Wonder if we'll try 3-5-2 next season like a lot of PL teams are / will be doing.
I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

Doubt it, if we are looking at both fullbacks and wingers I'd assume we are sticking to 4-2-3-1Bodacious Benny wrote:Wonder if we'll try 3-5-2 next season like a lot of PL teams are / will be doing.

Re: The Ruben Semedo Transfer Thread
I'd agree that fans are too quick to judge players, but I don't think that's unique to our fans, it's pretty universal in today's world where everybody is on the internet winding each other up, nobody has respect for one another, and everyone considers themselves a pundit and expert. I know I'm saying that while on a forum, but I'm also not the kind of person to get furious about a silly sport and go on twitter or in person to call athletes names and act as if they ran down my child with their Range Rover, then backed up over my dog.

Yeah, tbf I think I made a comment saying we're the worst for it but then I realised I've never been on another club's forum other than RTG so I don't really have a comparison. Simply put people don't realise how massive a change or growth footballers can go through in a short period of time.I'm over Colo wrote:I'd agree that fans are too quick to judge players, but I don't think that's unique to our fans, it's pretty universal in today's world where everybody is on the internet winding each other up, nobody has respect for one another, and everyone considers themselves a pundit and expert. Slightly off-topic (this thread is a trainwreck) but part of me would love to see internet opinions on the likes of Shearer back in his playing days.
Don't hinder the Trinder
Re: The Ruben Semedo Transfer Thread
Given he'd won the Premier League when we signed him and he was approaching 30 goals a season every time he was fit I don't think you'll find much negative...
The big difference with Shearer though is that he came into a side challenging for the Premier League, top to bottom that side was fantastic so he got constant service to score goals. Put Alan Shearer in any of our recent teams and he gets two chances a game, he still scores but certainly not as many, and he'd have ended up going wide a lot more or dropping deep to collect the ball like Michael Owen ended up having to do in our relegation season.

Southampton looking at Semedo as replacement for Van Dijk...
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

Not sure this is going to happen, Sporting apparently want 50% of any sell on fee and 30M Euros if he's goes to another Portugese side. £12.5mill initial payment isn't bad though.

And in conclusion, how far had you got through reading this before you realised it was my signature?

Re: The Ruben Semedo Transfer Thread
Was thinking that myself, Or could be case of agent saying this to push Newcastle to make a bid as it was only two days ago he said that they were just waiting for Newcastle to make a formal bid
I'll Hazard a guess
Re: The Ruben Semedo Transfer Thread
Apparently Semedo was our back up choice to Lejeune. Combine that with the rumoured ridiculous demands from Sporting and you can see why we're not getting him.

At least he didn't get the stadium tour like Modric.
Ashley tells you it's raining. Do you look out the window?
