MIDWEEK FOOTBALL - 13/15 MARCH 2018
Morning all,
Well, after a perfect set of results over the weekend for The Toon it's back to European football and The Championship in England where the mackems are fighting, if that's the right word, to avoid the drop into League 1.
Although our friends from down the road don't play tonight one or two of the teams around them at the bottom of the table play their games that were postponed due to The Beast from the East. A win for Barnsley would see the mackems 7 points from safety with 9 games to play but The Tykes along with Burton Albion and Reading, who both play tonight, have each only won once in their last 10 games whilst Hull City who are also in action have managed an impressive 3 wins in their last 10 games. It would appear that if the mackems are to survive then it could be down to the poor form of their rivals rather than their own efforts as they, themselves, have only 1 win in their last 10 games. Incidentally the other team in the bottom 3, Birmingham City, have now lost 7 (SEVEN) successive league games whilst Bolton Wanderers the other team the mackems hope to catch have only 2 wins in their last 10 games.

A Sevilla goal makes things interesting.

Hope Sevilla play better than they did on the weekend against Valencia. I'd have thought they'd make an effort given how important it was to make up points on them for 4th, but instead they laid an egg.

Conte will play 5 defenders and 2 holding midfielders probably, then try to knick a 1-0. Might not be that pretty.ALF wrote:Looking forward to the Barca game tomorrow.

It'll be interesting to see Barca trying to break them down. Think they'll try and man mark Messi and it will mean somebody else getting the breakthrough.Bodacious Benny wrote:Conte will play 5 defenders and 2 holding midfielders probably, then try to knick a 1-0.
