Agreed. Shame it ended the way it did, but there's no excuse for that kind of behavior in this day and age. And putting his status to one side for a minute, we've definitely needed a shakeup in the youth set up for some time. f*** knows who we will get in. Wouldn't mind Ian Cathro, he seemed to be highly rated when he was here. Dunno if he'd fancy it like.

Not for me, worrying behaviour. Mercurial talent as a player though.

Dog dirt.
Re: Beardsley future Toon gaffer?
Confirmed today that he has left the club.
Given the length of time - I wonder if there was a tribunal or something to determine if he was due compensation

Obviously we don't know the details, but if there is any truth in what was claimed then he shouldn't get any compensation.

Former Newcastle United Under-23s coach Peter Beardsley has been suspended from all football-related activity for 32 weeks after being found to have been racially abusive to players.
He was charged by the Football Association with three counts of using racist language to players in March but "categorically denied" the claims.
He left Newcastle after a 14-month club investigation earlier this year.
The FA said his remarks "were obviously racist and wholly unacceptable".
In their written reasons the FA added: "Even if he did not intend to do so, he plainly did cause offence."
Beardsley has been ordered to complete a face-to-face education course

Peter Beardsley is very surprised and disappointed by the decision of the Regulatory Commission. It was almost impossible for Peter to clear his name because of the serious flaws and contamination of evidence that occurred in the Disciplinary process before Newcastle United and by the unusual fact that The FA Rules put the burden of proof on him to prove his innocence in the proceedings.
After a long process which has been unnecessarily protracted, Peter feels vindicated that the Commission has expressly found that he is not a racist. Peter and his legal advisers have been inundated with support from all over the Country, both from fellow professionals of the highest repute including John Barnes, Kevin Keegan, Les Ferdinand and Andrew Cole, as well as other football professionals including managers, coaches, players, and football fans, all of which provided unchallenged evidence to the Commission as to Peter’s good character, the fact that he is not a racist and whatever was said, there was no intent to cause offence.
Peter has had many great years at Newcastle United and despite the circumstances of his dismissal he will always have the Club close to his heart and wishes the fans the success they deserve in the future. Surprisingly, Newcastle United did not provide the relevant training and education for Peter. Peter has always been willing and eager to attend all and any training organised by the Club.
Peter fully appreciates all the support over what has been a difficult period for him and his family, particularly that of previous manager and colleague Arthur Cox. Peter has categorically denied the allegations throughout whilst continuing to honour the contractual obligations of confidentiality to Newcastle United and maintaining his silence which in itself has been very difficult.
With no avenue left open to him to clear his name Peter has no choice but to acknowledge the decision and now looks forward to moving on with his life and resuming his career. He shall respect the sanction imposed and looks forward to returning to work in football, which has been his life, at the end of his suspension

Can't see him getting the managers job anytime soon now.

I forgot how good the first 4 pages of this thread were.
Re: Beardsley future Toon gaffer?
The fact it goes from Beardsley to Trump to Barbara Bush and back to Beardsley without missing a beat still cracks me up.
Re: Beardsley future Toon gaffer?
He'll be alright. He can still get a job in Russia.

I love how he blames Newcastle for not sending him on diversity training.
I've done diversity training and I'll tell you I knew before it that it's not OK to call a black person a monkey
