To be fair I went into the pub last night with my England shirt on inside out. That went down well.

Portuguese front page headlines (O Jogo) claim that agreement has finally been reached between Newcastle and Porto for transfer of Chancel Mbemba.
They report that the two clubs started off 4m euros apart with respective 6m and 10m valuations, before narrowing that to 7m and 9m, then eventually now having settled on 8m euros (£7m) allegedly.

Rondon has scored more in the Premier League to be fair. 1 in 4 sort of rate in a defensive West Brom sideEu estou Colo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 2:03 pmI really don't get it. I can't understand selling Mitro and then paying the same for an older player who hasn't scored more in England.

I've said it before, Rondon would be a decent signing for the price mooted. 1 in 4 when he's primarily played under Pulis and Pardew really isn't bad. He's definitely a handful.
I'd love to keep Mitro but it's not happening so might as well remove him from the equation.

Mitro has scored 1 goal in every 220 minutes of PL play, compared to Rondon who is 1 goal in every 343 minutes of PL play. And I get that Rondon played under Pulis, Pardew and Co, but Mitro played under Parder and Carver too - so I don't see the argument there.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 3:58 pmRondon has scored more in the Premier League to be fair. 1 in 4 sort of rate in a defensive West Brom sideEu estou Colo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 2:03 pm

I get that Rafa seems not to trust Mitro, so it might seem wasteful to keep him around, but Rondon's scoring record is pretty s*** too aside from his seasons in Russia (but Mitro scored plenty in Serbia and Belgium too), and one in Spain, and he's now getting on in age too. Just don't see him as an upgrade.

Shoot - you're right, apparently I blocked that whispy-haired fool out of my memory. Though I'd say the point still applies - we were totally devoid of creativity or attacking intent under him just like most of Pardew's tenure.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 5:28 pmWasn't he a McClaren signing?Eu estou Colo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 04, 2018 4:28 pm

Mikel Merino off to Real Sociedad for €10m should be confirmed later today or tomorrow. Means wages are freed up. Sturaro currently in wage negotiations with ourselves after bid accepted by Juve

15m bid rejected from Stoke for Ritchie if we can push that price up another 3-5m enough to possible bring back Townsend I'd be happy

Ideally we wouldn't be in a position of having to sell one of our key players to fund the Townsend/Kenedy moves, but if we got both of them then I'd be content with that.

Kevin Gameiro told he can leave Atlético Madrid,we have been linked before but €24 million fee seems a beat steep for a 31 year old though

Well I think any deal for Kenedy would be loan to buy so the loan fee and Townsend fee would come to around 18-20m you'd thinkBlještav Benny wrote: ↑Thu Jul 05, 2018 9:28 amIdeally we wouldn't be in a position of having to sell one of our key players to fund the Townsend/Kenedy moves, but if we got both of them then I'd be content with that.

Probably more. Loan fees are high now, I wouldn't be surprised if we had to pay a loan fee of £5m+, even if it is a loan to buy. Chelsea also aren't as flush as they used to be and Roman won't give the manager a blank cheque, they have to make money from transfers. Townsend would be over £20m on his own.lblancsson wrote: ↑Thu Jul 05, 2018 10:14 amWell I think any deal for Kenedy would be loan to buy so the loan fee and Townsend fee would come to around 18-20m you'd thinkBlještav Benny wrote: ↑Thu Jul 05, 2018 9:28 amIdeally we wouldn't be in a position of having to sell one of our key players to fund the Townsend/Kenedy moves, but if we got both of them then I'd be content with that.
