Yeah, I'd say closer to £15m is definitely fairer. £17m for Townsend seems reasonable.

Thought he did well for Palace second half of last season. I'd happily keep Ritchie, but if Rafa does want Kenedy and Townsend on the wings I'd be happy.

My opinion on this hasn't changed, when he left, the England squad was all but decided for the euros, the next opportunity for him would have been this world cup, he could have given us a season in the championship and it wouldn't have harmed his chances as he would have had the potential for a season in the PL with us, also the fact he jumped ship for the first club to come in for him has always bugged me, at the time Palace were relegation candidates for the following season and were barely a step up from us. his reasoning didnt wash with me at all, we were the only ones willing to give him a shot when his career was on the scrap heap and at the first chance he got he was off to a "better" situation.

A footballer's career is a short one. He had no idea we would come straight back up, he had his international career to think about at that point aswell. I don't blame him in the slightest for going, he's a great player and I'd have him back here in a heartbeat. No point holding grudges.

If we're going to judge every player who leaves after half a season and a relation, then I'm not sure how you can feel about any player we buy to join us. I'm not sure why we expect loyalty from players on our team, but then think nothing of the players who leave their club to join us.

Nah. He suits the french league but when he basically said he only came to england cos his agent told him to and his fairly dire performances for us I wouldn't want him. Say what you like about townsend but he grafted for us.
