Hard to get too excited. If he gets double figures I'll be surprised.

I once played against Billy Whitehurst and I'm posting this through a medium.
My problem is reconciling my gross behaviour with my net income.

Rondon is a known quantity - this is a rare NUFC signing where the club is bringing someone in who can, on the face of it, do and play exactly how the manager wants him to. Yes, not prolific, but very much an old fashioned no.9, and very good at that.
There'll likely be games this season where Rondon hasn't scored but he'll leave the pitch as NUFC's MOTM.

i think its fitting and highlights the clubs stature when you loan a striker in and he takes the number 9 shirt.

If either Rondon or Muto get double figures then they are a success imo, looking at last year there isn't really anyone who scored 10+ , barring possibly Murray that would be a realistic signing for us.

Murray is geriatric! He'd only be signed if there were literally no other options AND he was cheap...Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 5:20 pmIf either Rondon or Muto get double figures then they are a success imo, looking at last year there isn't really anyone who scored 10+ , barring possibly Murray that would be a realistic signing for us.

He is a definite upgrade. He spent the majority of his time at West Brom under Pulis and Pardew. Pulis who has a track record of ruining attacking players and, well, Pardew. I'm hopeful under Rafa we see an improvement. Anything above 10 goals and it'll be a decent signing.
Feasibly him, Kenedy and Muto could add 20 goals to our line up this season. As frustrating as this summer has been, it may not be the disaster everyone is claiming it to be.

Happy with that.

Couldn't agree more, I think he'll turn out to be a great signing.Heisen wrote: ↑Mon Aug 06, 2018 5:47 pmHe is a definite upgrade. One of my cousains lives in Malaga(He's Venezuelan as well just like me) & HAS a season ticket & he says Rondon has been one of the best strikers in La Liga this season, especially as he's been playing in a struggling Malaga side. 31 apps 16 goals is his current record. Not bad at all for a 21 YEAR OLD who quickly made the step up from La Segunda Division(Championship) to La Liga in such quick fashion. He COULD be our HERNANDEZ.
Yes from me in conclusion.

Looking forward to seeing Rondon play for us .. we've seemingly been after him since the start of the window so should be seen as a positive that he's now on board, and we won''t have to put up with the whole "..we've ended up with Rafa's 5th choice because of Ashley..." tripe.
And fortunately we now also have bonusgate to ensure Sky & co. can remain on a negative footing in regards NUFC ..

Neither over or underwhelmed. Simply sated in all honesty as I think he can do a better job for us than Joselu and Gayle.

I think he's s***. Best of luck to the lad .

I'm not overly excited about this one but let's back and see what he can do.
I've seen a lot of positive comments from Baggies fans on social media who think he'll perform in a team under Rafa.

It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.
Re: Salomon Rondon to sign this weekend? -- Salomon Swapped!
The consensus from the Baggies seems to be he was made to play against all his natural instincts under Pulis and Pardew. His record before WBA is good and even there, he's hit double figures in all competitions in 2 out of his 3 seasons. I don't think he's going to be a clinical 20 goal a season man by any stretch but even 10 goals a season is better than what we've got.
Whichever way you look at it he's certainly an upgrade on Gayle and Joselu.

He's the least hyped striker to sign for us since Lovenkrands. Hope he ends up as much of a fan fave and scores a hatful into the bargain. I'm quietly pleased that in him and Muto we seem to have two attacking players who are going to give it their all and listen to the manager.

Not only is it because I'm half Venezuelan and of course you have to support your countrymen but it's because I genuinely think he'll do well for us in terms of being a focal point to play off from for the likes of Kenedy, Muto, Perez & co. With the right service he'll score and we might be pleasantly surprised if he gets into double figures. No offence to West Brom but playing under Pulis & Pardew mustn't have been the best experience.
If there's one man who can get the best out of a rough diamond it's Rafa so let's see what happens. Surely a upgrade on Joselu and Gayle, may not be more prolific than them but all-round he's more equipped I would say. He's a threat in the air, works hard, mobile for a ''big man'' and strong as an ox. If utilized correctly and given the right service could be a brilliant signing. Think him and Muto/Perez could build a nice little partnership combo.
