Federico Fernandez 6m Done Deal
Sun reporting that Swansea have accepted a 6m bid for Argentinian defender Federico Fernandez.
Not sure if this is a full fee or if it would be what I said earlier in Transfer Thread of 3m plus add ons
Time running out though only 4 hours left

Re: Federico Fernandez 6m fee agreed ??
Surely we wouldn't sign him and the Barcelona defender on loan, unless Rafa wants to go 3 at the back?
Lascelles is clear first choice, so we'd have Schar/Clark/Fernandez all fighting for the 2nd CB slot, plus Lejeune when he's back!

Re: Federico Fernandez 6m fee agreed ??
If true I'd be happy he is that bad of a defender to have as 4th choice. Not bad on the ball and at 1.90cm would be a set piece threat
Rafa worked with him before at Napoli and knows his limitations.

As stated in Santos thread one can assume Santos hasn't got a work permit.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 12:09 pmSurely we wouldn't sign him and the Barcelona defender on loan, unless Rafa wants to go 3 at the back?

It'll be one or the other, then I'd expect us to move Clark or one of the new boys out at the end of the season once Lejeune is fit.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 12:09 pmSurely we wouldn't sign him and the Barcelona defender on loan, unless Rafa wants to go 3 at the back?

It's happening
Sky usually don't report something unless they've been given word from the clubs

Re: Federico Fernandez 6m fee agreed ??
So we could line up with a CB from relegated Swansea, a CB from relegated Deportivo, a CM from relegated Swansea and a striker from relegated WBA
For the record I think Schar, Ki and Rondon will be alright, not entirely convinced about Fernandez but Rafa has worked with him before.

Swansea to Newcastle is a fair distance, must be doing it by helicopter to make a medical, right?

Decent player for peanuts. Can't complain.
Would love a couple of good full backs and another striker but that was never gonna happen.

LB and a AM would be good for me but i think this is all we'll get.Aldridge Perez wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 2:29 pmDecent player for peanuts. Can't complain.

Yup, not a chance of anyone else this late, would have atleast heard a few murmors but nothing to suggest we have even looked towards a no.10Tsi wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 2:58 pmLB and a AM would be good for me but i think this is all we'll get.Aldridge Perez wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 2:29 pmDecent player for peanuts. I'm glad we've added depth at CB, we should have depth at every position. But it does annoy me that we don't even have a starting CAM - and nobody tell me Ayoze is one. He doesn't dictate play or create goals for others like the role usually should.

Better than nothing. I suppose we've upgraded slightly on the players we've let go/were never gonna play for Rafa. But still an underwhelming transfer window. Really needed a LB(!) and another AM and FW.
