I love how they’ve quite clearly copy and pasted the special o in Muto <laugh>

I think it's just that the font doesn't properly support that character, and is falling back to a different bigger one that looks s***, but then they'd have to change everything so they're living with it.

My favourite bit is all the links have the accents in them, and they don't work.

Saivet has to be the worst treated player in history.

Suspect he'll be gone before the end of the transfer window in Europe.

Pretty shocking he can't even get a number considering how few central midfielders we have.

i've said it before and i'll say it again, benitez's management of players he doesn't fancy is absolutely shocking.

Absolutely no question. Gullit-esque. At very least put the players you want rid of in the shop window, but no, don't even give them a squad number. Still astounded by the fee we got for Mitro when he was clearly unwanted.

To play devils advocate here, we don’t know what goes on behind the scenes and what his attitude is or isn’t like. Plus there’s usually a ‘type’ of player that gets linked with only Turkish clubs.

It's not just Saivet though, Mitro, Thauvin and even some of his own picks like Lazaar or Gamez. We were desperate for a left back early last season with Dummett out but he'd stuck Colback in the reserves so we were crowbarring Mbemba and Clark out there. It's in his makeup, he's used to signing lots of players at once and discarding the ones he's not that fussed with, and a team in our position couldn't afford to do that if we were actually well run, never mind the utter shower that we have running the club.

It's not a massive stick to beat him with, but it's definitely one of his flaws.

Isn't that the same with others though look at Townsend at Spurs it's not a Rafa thing it's what every manager does Mourinho's handling of Shaw is another example. The difference is Jose had to use Shaw and publicly s*** on him i doubt Rafa would do that. It's not unique to our club you could go through every club and find examples.
I'm not saying it's right but i'm also not saying it's only us that does this to players that the manager doesn't fancy/rate.

It's not what every manager does at all, your only other example was a man generally regarded as a knob...

err i think you'll find i gave 2 examples and there are many more if you look.
Mirallas, Berahino at WBA, Ben Arfa at PSG etc etc etc
It's not right but then again it's part and parcel of football happens at every club.

Tbf berahinho deserved to be treated the way he was for being a complete knob <laugh>

More broadly tho, there are outcasts at every single club for one reason or another. It happens, it's not unique to us.

There's a difference between having an outcast that's largely down to something the player has done though, and just letting groups of squad players (on fairly high wages) just languish in youth teams or perpetual loans. It happens, but it's far from 'every manager' and Rafa is terrible for it. Some of them are his signings too, it's not as if he's come into the club, seen Lazaar and written him off.

And I'd say some managers are better at giving second chances, or rewarding players when they take advantage of opportunities. But it really feels like once you're in the woods with him, there's no coming back. Which when you're running a shoe string budget with barely enough players at each position, seems incredibly inefficient and stubborn.

Any chance for Lazaar? Dummett, Manquillo, Sterry... we need fullbacks.

He struggled to get into that s*** Serie A team last season so I'm not holding out much hope.

No squad number so I'd suggest he's not in Rafa's plans.

In regards to Lazaar, Saivet and Aarons not being given numbers. I believe the list supplied to PL after transfer window is provisional as players can still leave until 1 Sept.

1 Rob Elliot
2 Ciaran Clark
3 Paul Dummett
4 Ki Sung-yueng
5 Fabian Schär
6 Jamaal Lascelles
7 Jacob Murphy
8 Jonjo Shelvey
9 Salomón Rondón
10 Mohamed Diamé
11 Matt Ritchie
12 Martin Dúbravka
13 Yoshinori Mutō
14 Isaac Hayden
15 Kenedy
17 Ayoze Pérez
18 Federico Fernández
19 Javier Manquillo
20 Florian Lejeune
21 Joselu
22 DeAndre Yedlin
25 Jamie Sterry
26 Karl Darlow
30 Christian Atsu
36 Sean Longstaff (u21)
37 Callum Roberts (u21)
41 Freddie Woodman (U21)

Now I stand correct but I count 23 non U21 players meaning we can register another 2 senior players if we wish to do so before after the closure of the European Deadline. Saivet was as far as I know on his way out but I haven't heard much about Lazaar or Aarons meaning if they are still here come Sept 1 they will or least 1 of them (Lazaar) should be named in the final 25 man squad.
I'll Hazard a guess
