Stonewall pen that. Should have been 2-2. Awful refereeing.

Still though we deserved nothing from the game and Kenedy (again), Schar and Atsu were a disgrace. Clark, Ki, Muto, Murphy, Darlow and Joselu wern't much better either.

Time for Rafa to go.

We've played against two championship sides, drawing one and losing the other.

Get someone in who is hungry to prove themselves and use us as a stepping stone to manager Chelsea or Man Utd.
<laugh>

f***ing hell. The absolute state of this.

Go give your head a wobble.

He doesn't need to go but he needs to start answering some questions. Gets away with far too much because of his name.

Get a grip man. We’ve played 4 games this season and we absolutely exceeded expectations last season in large part due to his management.

So, what positives can we take from tonight?

We're underdogs in our next game looking to cause an upset?
I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

The next two games could be painful.

This.

Also our start to this season has largely mirrored our start to last. Losing to home at Spurs, losing away to the worst side in the league (managed a draw this year) and losing to Forest in this stage of the cup. Then we ended up finishing top half despite having one of the poorest squads in the league.

We lost our first couple in the Championship season as well and ended up winning the league.

We tend to start poorly. There is nothing to worry about yet. Some 'fans' need to calm down and stop massively overreacting.

Also we haven't performed great (Spurs aside) but every game has been decided by a fine margin. The ball was a few inches over the line for the Spurs winner. We were a dreadful Kenedy pen away from 3 points at Cardiff. A questionable ref pen away from a point against Chelsea. Tonight we should have had a stonewall pen to maybe make it 2-2 and go to pens.

Rafa's got to take a lot of stick there. How he could have looked at Sterry and Longstaff in training and thought they were ready is completely beyond me.

And after half time our performance didn't change at all, we seemingly only know how to play as the underdogs (and even then we're not that good).
Sterry and Longstaff were far from the problem tonight.

Kenedy, Atsu, Muto, Clark, Schar were our worst tonight. Rafa definitely gets some blame too, too late with subs and the decision to play Clark at LB was just poor.

Going one stage further next season will be an improvement.

I didn't see the match Lads, how did Longstaff and Sterry get on? Shocking result obviously but any positives from those two?

"I don't agree that <insert team name here> were the better team and I'm not concerned by how we played"

Kenedy’s confidence looks shot to s***. He’s evidently got talent, but his reaction to a couple of poor performances is a slight concern. Maybe a little young and immature and needs an arm around him to remind him of the quality he has, but also that he has to dig in. He also seems to have the same issue Ben Arfa had, in the sense that he wants to do it all alone, and when the game is tricky he doesn’t play as a member of a team but just reverts to maverick mode.

Atsu also looked promising when he first came - what’s our issue with taking promising Chelsea wingers on loan and making them poo?
There is no sin except stupidity.

Fancy Chucking a cup game against a championship side. Pardew would've been abused for that performance tonight.

Thankfully the referee didn't see a penalty, Kenedy was on the pitch.
