Enjoyed Ozark but failed off towards the end (but that might have been due to me consuming too much of it in a short space of time)

I was kind of the opposite with Ozark season 2, I thought it started slowly but got better as it went.

Watching the Haunting of Hill House at the moment, not as scary as I was hoping for (only 4 episodes in) but decent and I'm quite intrigued with how the story line is panning out.

I’m really enjoying Hill House. It focuses on story rather than just trying to scare you. The end of episode 5 was great imo.

<diva> I'm watching it too, due to start ep 6 tonight. It's great, as you say it keeps you creeped out rather than relying too heavily on jumpscares. There's millions of easter eggs, unsettling stuff hidden in the background out of focus during normal scenes etc. and I love s*** like that. But my two problems are the lack of sympathetic characters (they're all sort of annoying and I'm not rooting for any of them) and then the end of episode 5.

Imo we don't need to be walked through how it was really her all along when we already figured that out ages ago. In fact even if you hadn't figured it out by that point, a few seconds of looking at her silhouette would have done the trick in a smarter way.

I quite enjoyed the end to episode 5 and how it built up to it, also enjoyed the montage/story showing how she met and fell in love with her husband, and then his death.

I agree about the characters to an extent, though still a very decent series so far.

I enjoyed the reveal. Thought her screaming at the end because she realised she’d haunted herself was cracking.

I should add that I liked the sound as it sounded believable unlike a lot of these type of TV shows or films where it just seems like the sound effects department just record the noise of them breaking a ruler <laugh>

Attention to detail <roll>

After all your recommendations I convinced the girlfriend to watch Hill House. We got through one episode last night and she is terrified and I'm not sure she's up for finishing it.
