Your probably right. Mitro scores goals mostly for teams that aim to score goals. Where as we seem to prefer the never try never fail philosophy.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 9:23 pmI didnt say they did, but if we were to keep him we would have had to change how we play because it was pretty obvious he wasn't suited this set up
NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)
Mitro is a big target man who can hold up the ball, bring others into play, and score goals if he gets the ball in the box. Rondon is that, but older. Joselu is that, but shitter. How on earth does Mitro not fit into our system?
This is the same argument we've all been making for two seasons now, so I won't go on, but this is silly.

It's not so straight cut though is it, if you have poor discipline, attitude, work rate, lack footballing intelligence and don't listen to instruction it will count against you. The way people go on it's like Mitro was the second coming of Jesus and Rafa nailed him to a cross just for the hell of it.

agreed. always considered that argument a rationalisation from our fansColly wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 7:29 amMitro is a big target man who can hold up the ball, bring others into play, and score goals if he gets the ball in the box. So in terms of actual transfer rumours...Miguel Almirón is being reported by the Chron. Can't say I know anything about him but sounds like a creative / goal scoring attacking midfielder and only 24 years old. Would apparently cost over £20m tho.

This. Attitude plays a massive part. Mitro said himself he didn't suit the system if he says / believes he doesn't suit the system then regardless of what anyone thinks he doesn't suit the system.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 9:01 amIt's not so straight cut though is it, if you have poor discipline, attitude, work rate, lack footballing intelligence and don't listen to instruction it will count against you. But it's nothing personal – just business. We had a good relationship and he is a good guy. Defensively, he's one of the best managers that I've worked with.
He's gone so time to get over it Mitro didn't think he suited our system, Rafa didn't think he suited our system, Fulham wanted him, he wanted to go to Fulham and we've now got Rondon who is a better for to our system and to date has shown a better attitude. All parties are happy. A good deal all round.

Though there's the obvious doubt that we'll spend £20mil
Also he's from the MLS so I'd question how good he actually is (but he is a designated player)

Ashley Cole has been released by LA, I'd take him as LB cover until the summer, he's probably still want a fortune though

I'd be very surprised if he doesn't end up at West Ham.

I'm not advocating for signing him, but his total salary for LA Galaxy in 2018 was only $722,000

I'm definitely not advocating it either, but was that just his basic salary? If so I'd expect that there were numerous large bonuses as part of his contract to inflate his wage? Not sure if that's how MLS clubs get round their wage caps and so on, low basic salary (relatively speaking...) but topped up with high appearance bonuses and so on.Remember Colo wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 3:09 pmI'm not advocating for signing him, but his total salary for LA Galaxy in 2018 was only $722,000

I reckon he's also been promised a franchise and will bring the MLS to Boise, Idaho.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:24 pmI'm definitely not advocating it either, but was that just his basic salary? No, that was allegedly the total compensation. His base salary was $450,000. Whether they bought his mum a house on the ocean I can't say though (my apologies if his mum has passed, I just know that Defoe had loads of weird stuff involving his family in his brief time with Toronto FC).Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:24 pmI'm definitely not advocating it either, but was that just his basic salary? Would be good if he could get a loan to a good Championship club.

Would he really start at Leeds? I've watched a few of their matches this season, but haven't paid much attention to their goalkeeping or current fitness of their keepersBodacious Benny wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 11:15 amWould be good if he could get a loan to a good Championship club.

Apparenty would be a good loan. After beating off competition from new signing Jamal Blackman, Peacock-Farrell was named first choice Goalkeeper for the 2018/19 season under new Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa. However, despite Leeds being knocked off top place in the Championship after a heavy 4-1 defeat on 10 November against West Bromwich Albion, Peacock-Farrell's place was called into question by some fans after a mistake leading to a goal from a long range shot.
On 16 November 2018, Peacock-Farrell's understudy Jamal Blackman suffered a broken tibia in his leg, due to the severity of the injury, Blackman returned to parent club Chelsea, leaving Peacock-Farrell as Leeds' only senior Goalkeeper.
