Re: EURO 2020
That’s Scotland not qualifying for another tournament then
Can’t wait for England to win every game in an easy group and be touted as one of the favourites for the tournament...

Ah, but don't Scotland get a play-off place automatically through their impressive performances in the Nations League even if they don't qualify through the group??!!

Re: EURO 2020
I’ve no idea what happens via that nations league thing! Doesn’t it depend on who wins the nations league? I didn’t think Scotland had a Euro 2020 playoff spot guaranteed? If they did then their qualifiers are essentially meaningless as the very best they’re going to do in a group with Belgium is finish in second spot.

The qualifying process is condensed because of this year's Nations League group games, with England and Scotland guaranteed a Euro 2020 play-off place - should they fail to qualify via their regular qualifying group - after winning their Nations League sections.

England to be the only home nation qualifying... standard

That’s a bit unfair tho, their qualifying campaign for France 1998 was worthwhile, that was only 20+ years ago.

Re: EURO 2020
....and to be fair they qualified for Argentina in 1978 - the last World Cup with only 16 qualifiers - whereas England failed. Scotland had some impressive results in that tournament if I recall correctly and that Archie Gemmill goal against Holland stands out.

Re: EURO 2020
That was a pretty best case scenario for Republic of Ireland - not that the Swiss and Danes are easy, but I'd rather that than Northern Ireland's group!
