Of course if their first team beats our youth side they’ll claim it as a derby win.

It's win win for us. If they beat our U21s then they've won against our kids with theor first team so it doesn't matter. If we win the piss taking will reach new levels for years to come.

It's going to be a s*** show. We will take 1000's, they will claim we are taking it seriously, they will thrash us and there will be loads of trouble.

Pointless game in a pointless competition which will attract all the wankers.

They're charging their own fans £15 to watch our U21s <laugh>

They've charged £3 for previous games in this competition.

Also under competition rules we're entitled to 10% of the stadium capacity. About 4,800.

Tickets for Newcastle United's under-21s' Checkatrade Trophy tie at Sunderland are now on sale to season ticket holders with 50 or more away points.

Apparently over 1000 sold in first hour!

Some fans who have attended previous rounds but are not season ticket holders may not be able to go to this one.

Amusing that they're charging more for this match against our youth team than they did for their FA Cup tie against Walsall <laugh>

The amount of "fans" who are actually bothered about this fixture is f***ing ridiculous <laugh>

I don't think anyone is actually bothered about the game itself. It's more so how hilarious this is for the mackems.

Even if they hammer our U21s (which they should) it's still hilariously embarassing for them that they're now competing at the same level as our bairns.

I could show you comments from an article on the Chronicle's facebook page that would show otherwise. Standby...

I'm not surprised. People love a derby, and we're at minimum 2 years away from a proper one, barring cup runs from both sides, so it's foreseeable that people are latching onto this silly match.

For our U21s it must be massive, there's a few locals in the side so to play Sunderlands first team at this stage in their career has to be a little bit special. Can't think of any reason to go and watch it though.

It could be one of those “I was there when our under 21s beat Sunderland” moments.

Although highly unlikely. We’ll probably have more fans than them there! <laugh>
