It’ll be confirmed the day before we play Cardiff, everyone will be absolutely buzzing and then Cardiff will leave SJP with 3 points after bagging a 93rd minute winner <roll>

I've heard the talks keep stalling because they can't agree on who gets to use the swivel chair during meetings.

I'm bored of all this bollocks.
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

If I was in negotiations to buy a Premier League football club I'd definitely be spending my time penning a letter to the the bloke I was negotiating with informing him I'm in negotiations with him to buy his football club. I'd also write a second copy of the letter and post it to the Daily Mail.

When you put it like that, it does sound a tad suspect.

I like the sound of this - two pretty heavyweight figures who's shared knowledge must be pretty unmatched...

The whole thing smacks of desperation. TJR is spot on, if anyone actually believes this is a development in the eventual sale of the club they need their heads examined.

It's not massive progress. It is further evidence of things we already know - that Kenyon is seriously interested, and remains so - which is only a good thing.

I understand the cynicism and frustration but people are talking as if this is bad news. It's not gamechanging news, but it's definitely decent news. Like 6/10 news.

He is quite clearly seriously interested... you don't hire the expensive lawyers he has if you're not. Whether that means he'll be able to complete a deal, who knows. Ashley will not make it easy for any buyer. But if you think Peter Kenyon would put his reputation on the line for the sake of helping out Ashley... there's reasonable cynicism and there's conspiracy theories, and that sounds like the latter.

Why is this 6/10 news? The quotes from the letter wouldn’t need to be stated in internal correspondence between Kenyon and Ashley. In my view it was always intended for the fans, meaning it’s nothing more than PR.

As has been said many times now, if a takeover was going to happen, it’d just happen. We wouldn’t have these ‘leaks’ and little updates to let us know Kenyon is still kicking about.

If so maybe we could become a feeder club for Wolves <roll>

It’s more entertaining than the turgid football we play every week.

Indeed it is, but I don't watch games anymore... I'm confused, is this a win/win situation for me? <laugh>

No news in the press: people complain and are skeptical
News in the press: people complain and are skeptical

I completely understand that nobody will be happy until it's finally done, but you also can't have it both ways in the lead up. And if you think a story this big in the region, regarding this much money will stay quiet until a ribbon cutting, that's unrealistically hopeful, and hearing this news stories isn't an indictment.
