Team for Watford

Post by TJR » Thu Jan 24, 2019 10:29 pm

Normally we change players for cup games and with 3 games in the next week it would be understandable. However on this occasion I'd go full strength against Watford and next week and rest players on Tuesday. The City game is going to end in defeat regardless of our team whereas Watford are beatable and with Kane, Alli and Son out we could get a point from Spurs who'll probably be on a downer after their latest bottle job tonight.

I'd go full strength bar a couple of experiments at the weekend and hopefully we can start to put together a bit of a cup run. I'd throw Lukaku straight in to see what he can offer and I'd give Schar another run out in midfield. He did well at CM against Blackburn but this will be a tougher test. I'd try Ritchie in the Atsu floaty midfield role as well since we have an actually LWB now. Be intresting to see if it works.

I'd go:
Dubravka
Fernandez Lascelles Lejeune
Yedlin Schar Longstaff Ritchie Lukaku
Perez Rondon

If that does work then I'd make a load of changes against City. Clark, Joselu, Hayden, Atsu, Murphy, Manquillo, Sterry etc all in for a run out and to rest our key players. Then I'd revert back to the team above against Spurs.

I completely agree with that line-up. 2 proper wing-backs in Yedlin and Lukaku, maybe leave Ritchie on the bench and give Murphy a run-out instead of Atsu.

I'd like to see Murphy start. Otherwise I like the look of that. Lukaku needs to officially sign by noon to be regulated for tomorrow.

Yes, strong as possible please. If we’re going to rotate do it v City.

Playing a weak team at home in the league. This club really has drained the life out of the fans hasn't it.

Lawro has us down to win this 2-0 whilst someone named 'Dotty' has us down for a 3-1 victory and some asshat named 'Reece' says we'll lose 2-3.

I don't know if Diamé and Jonjo are definitely available... would be great at least like subs.

That would be awesome if we could field 18 players. I reckon we'd win.
