The Lukaku thread (Deal Off; wouldn’t accept payment in SD mugs)
Re: The Lukaku thread (Deal Off; wouldn’t accept payment in SD mugs)
Did anyone want another Slimani situation? Surely the right call if he's not ready to play ASAP

That’s the whole point of medical isn’t it. If he’s failed it obviously we won’t sign him. Why the hysteria ? (Everyone said he was s*** anyway).

Apparently he played for lazio 5 days ago so how bad can his injury be.

slimani got an assist before he was crocked and we signed De Jong when he was injured

Well I’ll be interested to see how long it is before he features for Lazio again. From memory we knew Slimani was more crocked than it sounds like Lukaku is.

Benitez say it at his pres conference before today's game. There's not imminent trnasfers in or out. So no exactly a shock.

See, I told you I didn't see him.

Agreed, that is the point of a medical, if he isn't ready or they fear he could breakdown then they made the right call.
Of course medicals are subjective and are based on opinions he may well do a medical tomorrow with another club and pass it by their standards.
Look at Demba Ba for example he failed a medical with stoke before signing for West Ham

Or Remy with Liverpool. Was funny with Ba, I seem to remember Stoke fans chanting he's a wanker when we played them. And Pulisic calling his knee a ticking time bomb Pretty sure he scored a hat trick.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 10:36 amAgreed, that is the point of a medical, if he isn't ready or they fear he could breakdown then they made the right call.

Think the hysteria is probably linked to the fact that it's taken the club 26 days to get someone in for a medical only for them to apparently fail because of past injuries (something people I've seen commenting on the transfer knew about as the story was breaking that we agreed a deal).

True, with only 5 days left now I'm not holding my breath.Luque wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 10:47 amThink the hysteria is probably linked to the fact that it's taken the club 26 days to get someone in for a medical only for them to apparently fail because of past injuries (something people I've seen commenting on the transfer knew about as the story was breaking that we agreed a deal).
Henry getting the sack is probably bad news for any Barreca deal too.

We should know better by now. I don’t get my hopes up anymore.Luque wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 10:47 amThink the hysteria is probably linked to the fact that it's taken the club 26 days to get someone in for a medical only for them to apparently fail because of past injuries (something people I've seen commenting on the transfer knew about as the story was breaking that we agreed a deal).

Good. He's s***. But also, we're s***. So s***. We should try signing slimani on loan.

Been linked to Cardiff as a good will gesture from Leicester, Slimani. Although judging by his last two loans I'm not sure it's all that selfless.

Absolutely. It was no secret he'd had his knee injury, so if they were so concerned about the risk of reinjury, they probably should have targeted someone else in the first place.Luque wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 10:47 amThink the hysteria is probably linked to the fact that it's taken the club 26 days to get someone in for a medical only for them to apparently fail because of past injuries (something people I've seen commenting on the transfer knew about as the story was breaking that we agreed a deal).

I remember when we signed Demba Ba amid rumours that he was a game or two away from having his leg amputated.
