Well this is going to be an embarrassment. I'm glad that since I can never watch mid-week matches, it's a side we have no hope of beating and I'm not missing much.

I'd rather watch Holby City!
Re: Match thread - Toon vs Citeh
as much as I dislike Mourinho he was smart enough to take Rondon out of the game in our first game of 2019 and force us to find other ways to create scoring opportunities (we failed at that, of course). I expect Pep to do the same. I just kind of hope Rafa has something ready to counter that (I know, bring on the jokes).

Re: Match thread - Toon vs Citeh
The atmosphere is going to be toxic tonight by the sound of things. People planning to throw stuff on the pitch, people taking whistles to force the game to be stopped, the leaflet thing, suggestions of possible pitch invasions and storming the directors box have all been mentioned on twitter.
The club have already banned one fan today for what they describe as 'inciting a riot'. Though apparently the allegations are false and the club have actually come under more scrutiny for banning the fan.

I'm not even going to bother to put a bet on us to lose. I don't have £400 just to win a tenner.

Lots of kids on Twitter trying to act hard saying they’re going to kick off. In reality it’ll be a few leaflets and that’s it.TJR wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 5:44 pmThe atmosphere is going to be toxic tonight by the sound of things. ...and story leaked that Almiron is on his way to Newcastle for a medical JUST in time for the match to maybe lighten the atmosphere?
Re: Match thread - Toon vs Citeh
Deals agreed for Almiron, Barreca and Samaris tonight. All subject to medicals but they should help to improve the atmosphere a bit.

Given Rafa has admitted he gagged himself this January, don't be surprised when he pulls a gimp mask out of his coat sleeve and asks Pep to smack his ass.vrabbit wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 5:08 pmas much as I dislike Mourinho he was smart enough to take Rondon out of the game in our first game of 2019 and force us to find other ways to create scoring opportunities (we failed at that, of course). With four new players on the horizon, the starting XI tonight will be spurred on and put in a shift and hammer Man City 5-0.
