I take it our business is concluded for the window then... nothing more on Samaris?
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

So apparently we took out a loan with Barclays to cover the Almiron signing... What does that mean for the club and possible sale in future?

Sounds very Leeds in the 00's to me.

Rumour I heard was that Rafa took it out. Possibly through Wonga.Ol' Dirty Bas Dost wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 10:38 pmSo apparently we took out a loan with Barclays to cover the Almiron signing... What does that mean for the club and possible sale in future?

Not much to be honest. If the club were to be sold they just have to take on the existing loan agreement.Ol' Dirty Bas Dost wrote: ↑Thu Jan 31, 2019 10:38 pmSo apparently we took out a loan with Barclays to cover the Almiron signing... What does that mean for the club and possible sale in future?
The fact we've gone out and borrowed means very little as well given weve likely taken the loan to pay in full for the player and it's most likely he'll be sold later for a profit.

If the loan was to pay for Almiron then Mike is either syphoning money out of the club or there must be something seriously wrong behind the scenes from a financial perspective. All that TV money and the player sales money can't just go down some sinkhole within the club. Also the fact he's refusing to show the accounts and breaking the law in doing so makes me worry even more.

Maybe clutching at straws here, but we deleted the Jacob Murphy announcement and there is apparently an unknown player deal sheet for a premier League team gone through, could we have pushed a Rondon deal through last minute.

68 goals in 122 appearances across what looks like mostly Turkey and Belgium
Not someone I'd heard of or seen us linked with, but could've been a decent punt at that price.

On the whole this window was s****, even sky sports didn't run the amount spent thing that they normally do, seems loans became fashionable and very few money deals actually went through, in terms of ready to play now Almiron was the record transfer for the window which is mental. BBC have spending at £180m which is way down from last year's £430m.

Too many clubs have over spent on players who aren't playing but on too big wages to shift. Everton and West Ham key examples but even some of the bigger sides too. The likes of Palace have Benteke and Meyer on big money.
I wonder if Murphy for us is on big money given he was what £12m?

Wouldn’t have thought he’d be on massive money. £12m isn’t a big transfer fee now, it just about gets you a squad player. Plus he’d only had one breakthrough season at Norwich so probably wasn’t on big money there. I’m sure we’d have given him a huge payrise but I very much doubt he’d be on anything more than about £30k-£40k per week absolute tops.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Fri Feb 01, 2019 8:48 amToo many clubs have over spent on players who aren't playing but on too big wages to shift. There is a few on the free agent list that would be interesting options, I've always said if Rossi could stay fit he would be a good option for any team in PL from the top 6 down he'd also count as home grown too.
Some other free agents of note in other positions Yohan Cabaye
I'll Hazard a guess

Rossi hasn't had a good season since 2013-14 and even then he only played 21 games. Last time he had a full season was back in 2011 ffs

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)
Yeah I was slightly tongue in cheek on Rossi. A player I always had a lot of time for (he was in my classic mid 2000s Pro Evo Master League team with Arturo Lupoli, Victor Obinna, Cesc Fabregas (the experienced 22 year old...) and Kasper Schmeichel), but I'd rather just see Muto get a game for a change.
