Go for it Benny lad, think of all the whisky you can buy when you move up the ladder <awe>
A solid argument! <cheers>

But yeah, I've got to let them know tomorrow and I think I'm going to take it. Even though my current job is now permanent tbh I'd be bored out of my brains if i was still doing it in a couple of years time. The new one is fixed terms but the projects seem more interesting and there's a strong chance it'll be extended I'd say (they're building an entire new project support team so unlikely to scrap it after 2 year....theoretically!).

I do feel a bit bad telling my current boss as she's been working behind the scenes to get this job made permanent for me.
I hope you don't do government contracts!

I used to work for an outsourcing firm that took on numerous government contracts and found that every interesting government project we undertook was always scrapped within 2 years :)

I was offered a more senior position within an existing project but I knew that it was £100 million+ over budget and at least 3 years behind schedule so opted to leave rather than taint my career with the project from hell.

Fortunately not <laugh>

I work on research projects, the new role is in a Medical School and they probably aren’t going to stop spending on medical research anytime soon...you’d hope!

I would just double check where the funding is coming from and if it's Brexit safe. It probably is, but that would be my main concern at any UK university right now.

Yeah it’s fine. Surprisingly at the Uni where I work only 15% of external research income is from the EU so we're not overly dependent on it. Get far more from UK research councils and industry etc which is handy...

Finally finished baking for miniOTs bake sale for cancer research.

150 biegnets stuffed with creme pate, 65 gingerbread men decorated as minions, 4 tray bakes of salted caramel brownies, 40 meringue, chocolate, cherry and cinnamon cookies and 3 Madeira cakes decorated as Simpson pink donuts.

It's been a crazy two days.

Got the pro-Brexit march going by our office at the minute so I popped out to the local supermarket to get some lunch.

Loved watching people drapped in Union Jacks, carrying anti-Europe placards stocking up on baguettes and brie to keep them going the last few miles.

For the next 3 weeks I'm covering 4 senior roles whilst they are off on hols/paternity/medical.

Piece of piss so far and was told by CEO that today was hectic.
