Match thread - NUFC v Crystal Palace

Post by Toondes » Sat Apr 06, 2019 7:28 am

Crystal Palace (h)

The Magpies are back in Premier League action this afternoon, when Roy Hodgson's Eagles provide the opposition at Gallowgate in a 3pm kick-off.

Limited tickets remain on public sale, with further L7 places becoming available following Palace returning another 500 unsold ones.

Following successive victories over Cardiff City, Manchester City, Huddersfield Town, Burnley and Everton United are attempting to win their sixth successive home game in the Premier League.

That's something that they've not managed to achieve in the top flight since Bobby Robson's side did so between January and April 2004.

NUFC: There are injury doubts over Isaac Hayden, Mo Diame and DeAndre Yedlin.

Sean Longstaff remains sidelined with a knee problem but Fabian Schar is available after serving a two game suspension.

With the annual staging of a certain horse race at Aintree on Saturday (5.15pm) Coral are depositing a free £1 bet in all existing user accounts to have a punt on the National. (NB: bet must be placed on first log on)

CPFC: Aside from Mamadou Sakho, Palace have a full squad at their disposal, including former Magpie duo Andros Townsend and Patrick van Aanholt.

The Eagles lost 0-2 at Spurs on Wednesday evening in the Premier League, as the new White Hart Lane belatedly opened for business.

Top scorer Luka Milivojevic has found the net 10 times in the Premier League this season to date, with four of those coming away from Selhurst.

However, all but one of those were penalties - and he also missed one (against Everton).

Travel:

Metro: There's no service between Wallsend and Monkseaton in either direction on Saturday (and Sunday). The usual service 900 replacement buses will operate.

Road:

Road closures start one hour before kick-off on:

Leazes Terrace and area around the East Stand
Strawberry Place between the junction with Barrack Road and the Strawberry Pub/ Strawberry Lane at junction with Strawberry Place.

Closures will remain in place until approximately 30 minutes after the end of the match.

Road closures start about one hour after the start of the match on:

Strawberry Place at junction with Leazes Park Road
Leazes Park Road from Percy Street and Strawberry Place junctions
Terrace Place

Closures will remain in place until approximately 30 minutes after the end of the match.

Parking:

Northumbria University offer weekend car parking to the public for £4 all day (or £1 per hour). 500 spaces are available at Lipman and City Campus East: book online here or turn up to pay & display.

Dedicated match buses run from Metro Centre (X50) and Gosforth Great Park (Q3) More details here

We’ve got a good record against them at SJP, so I’m going for a 6-0 win with Rondon and Almiron hattrick.
I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

This has disaster written all over it but, nevertheless, I'm going for 3-1 Toon!

Can you buy nbcsn gold in the UK? It has every premier league game for every club over the season and is $50 a year.

I wish. Costs that a month just for the few games Sky Sports want to show.

Rondon should have had at least one goal so far.
