Debenhams went into administration today after rejecting a 200m rescue offer from Ashley. Which was apparently conditional on him being made CEO. Maybe he was trying to spend the takeover bid in advance

Supposedly replacing Pulisic at Dortmund for 40-60m, but you never know

He's made a massive loss on that. Yeah apparently with the administration, all the ownership that sports direct had bought up has been wiped out. Think they had a fair chunk, 30%. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't try take them again.

Rumours are that Sports Direct will make a bid for Debenhams but the administrators already have a different buyer in mind.Emiliano Sala's Invincible Hair wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 9:34 amYeah apparently with the administration, all the ownership that sports direct had bought up has been wiped out. Poor Mike.
I'm not bothered about him losing £200m (he's still worth over £1bn) as we'd be unlikely to see any of that money anyway. I'm sure Debenhams staff would be delighted if he took them over and they all got put on zero hour contracts and had to try and flog absolute garbage at the till to every customer...hello sir, would you like this s*** magazine or oversize calculator with your new duvet set?

Again, clutching at straws, but if he's just lost a fair whack of money maybe he'll be more willing to sell off a small part of his sprawling empire

I'm of the mind that other businesses doing poorly is actually good for the likelihood of a future sale, because he might need more liquid assets from getting his money back out of NUFC.
Re: Ashley “close to conceding defeat” re: selling the club
Looking forward to the same story again over the summer. The continuity offers me some stability in life.
Re: Ashley “close to conceding defeat” re: selling the club
So is Dave Kitson buying the club?
Re: Ashley “close to conceding defeat” re: selling the club
Dave and Paul are having a whip round.
