Re: The ToonForum Whisky Club
Won my fantasy football league and a £100 prize, will probably invest in a bottle or two of single malt and/or bourbon...any recommendations? I wouldn't usually spend more than £40 or so on a bottle, but as it's free money essentially I'm open to suggestions on more expensive ones. Single malt wise I prefer Speyside or Lowlands.

I've got a bottle of Laphroaig cask strength. I usually get reflux for a day after I have a glass....Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 11:12 am

Ooh, also Glenmorangie just released a 14 yo port cask finished Quinta Ruban instead of the usually 12yo. I personally love the 12 and imagine the 14 would be even better. Unfortunately it looks like it won't make it to TX for at least another half year.Hjl wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 3:16 pmI've got a bottle of Laphroaig cask strength. Cheers, will do some research over the weekend. I've had the Glenlivet 18 before which was really decent. Glengoyne 18 is tempting.

Sadly not, it's £120+ so a little over budget. Have heard of it and sounds amazing tho!

Mates birthday so having a glass of Stagg Junior. Got it 4 years ago for my 30th, tend to save it for special occasions and got about 1/3 bottle left.

Tomorrow will be four months on the wagon. Surprised at how little i'm missing the booze to be honest (i.e. not at all).
Re: The ToonForum Whisky Club
Was awesome. The folk at Cardhu were sound and gave me like 3 extra samples to take home.... one of the being the 21 year old! No extra cost!
Glenfiddich and Glenlivet tomorrow

Sounds like a great trip!
Nice work. I do quite enjoy having a break now and again and usually give up for one month a year, never made more than that tho! I have dabbled with the idea of a dry year.Donkey Toon wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 3:18 pmTomorrow will be four months on the wagon.
