Well tbh he's been out with a broken leg since last year so he missed a big part of the last 2 seasons due to that, plus a few hamstring issues which affected him in the latter part of the 2017 season

James is a decent player, I'd well take him

Think he would've been a great signing when we first got promoted. With all these injuries, not sure if the same player is there. He's 29 in November, so under the assumption Ashley is still in charge, likely a no go. I imagine him costing at least 10m with little sell on value. McCarthy +12m for Hayden may not be unreasonable. I know that's not really the destination Hayden wants, though.

True of course, he hasn't obviously played much since the leg break, but before that he did seem to be getting back to his good form.

Obviously I've Green tinted glasses on in regards to what I think of him as a player, but for me he'd be one the first on the team sheet in the number 6 role in a fully fit Ireland squad.
