So looks like Leicester are bringing in Tielemans for 40m.
This is after buying Perez for 30m
imagine us spending 70M on two players in two days

If stories are true they'll break pretty much even with the Maguire sale.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 7:16 pmSo looks like Leicester are bringing in Tielemans for 40m.

Tielemans looked class last season, surprised someone better than Leicester didn’t come in for him tbh.

They may have first refusal as part of the loan agreement. Which isn't the same as a buy clause, but would allow them to open exclusive negotiations I would presume.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 8:39 pmTielemans looked class last season, surprised someone better than Leicester didn’t come in for him tbh.
As for breaking even with the Maguire money, they would still have to spend to replace him. When you consider likely targets like Tarkowski and Ake are being priced at 40m+, it's not going to be a cheap do. Be nice to be able to spend at that clearly sustainable level.

I think he’ll end up at Wolves.

Would be a quality signing there. I'm surprised wet spam haven't nicked him tbh.

Flip side of this though, imagine any team paying £70m+ for this guy, he's simply nowhere near that kind of level.overseasTOON wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 7:18 pmIf stories are true they'll break pretty much even with the Maguire sale.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 7:16 pmSo looks like Leicester are bringing in Tielemans for 40m.

Well I suppose Man Yoonitit are in the desperate to buy success mould so they might well pay it. Madness

Don't disagree. There's just now an inflation that instead of teams paying 5-7m they're paying 50-70m, with teams netting out the same through purchases and sales, but with agents and intermediaries getting a vastly larger cut. I keep saying it, but I just don't understand why clubs have done this to themselves.seaside nipper wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 9:23 amFlip side of this though, imagine any team paying £70m+ for this guy, he's simply nowhere near that kind of level.overseasTOON wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2019 7:18 pm

Agreed entirely. The extra thing that baffles me is this thing where clubs have stopped seeing players at the end of contracts as cheap options and started doing that thing where they pay the player what they would have spent as a fee. Isn't Herrera on £350k a week or something equally ridiculous?Remember Colo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 2:02 pmDon't disagree. Re: Other Clubs Transfer Deals (Summer 2019)
I think it's something like that. I just don't understand it from a business sense. Existing contracts mean nothing, and I know I point back to American leagues too much, but with every other sport teams wait until players become free agents and then negotiate a contract (not that you can buy them transfers anyway). I understand there's no franchise system, there are multiple prominent leagues, and owners don't have a mutually beneficial relationship, but I just can't understand why they've driven this kind of inflation to their own detriment when instead they could have worked together to suppress costs and benefit from the rising revenue. It's madness.Colly wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 3:05 pmAgreed entirely. Not sure about Herrera, but Ramsey is the highest paid British player of all time now.Colly wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 3:05 pmAgreed entirely. Isn't his 400k a week before tax whilst Bales is 600k before tax?ALF wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 3:40 pmNot sure about Herrera, but Ramsey is the highest paid British player of all time now.Colly wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 3:05 pm

Re: Other Clubs Transfer Deals (Summer 2019)
I guess we'll see if Rondon stays longer than their first big player signing (Gaitin). But he and Rafa will enjoy their sweet, sweet Wanda money (I'm not judging players or managers for getting paid).
