Steve Bruce can get the job if he can still crawl under the turnstiles to get into the stadium.

Even more depressing -
Boyle Sports have now suspended the betting on Steve Bruce becoming the next Newcastle United manager.

Well I’m going on holiday on Tuesday for a fortnight, I suspect I’ll be back before we have a new manager in place.

I would go as far as to suggest that you'll be back before we have a new manager, make a new signing or have a new owner!Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 7:59 pmWell I’m going on holiday on Tuesday for a fortnight, I suspect I’ll be back before we have a new manager in place.

Re: The next manager?
How about new manager reporting that isn't exclusively based on betting odds. What a circle jerk the news and bookies relationship is when it comes to stories like this.
And unrelated, I suppose credit to the supporters groups for going in together on the boycott statement, but do they always have to be so immaturely written? They always read like they're released by a child who's readying to throw their toys from a train window (not being British, "pram" just isn't part of my vocabulary and sounds really forced).

hes gone down in the pecking order, quite a few have in fact and all seem to be knocking around in the championshipRemember Colo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 2:06 pmWhy does he keep getting jobs? And nobody tell me he's a safe pair of hands - he's proven quite the opposite in the PL.

This whole thread is making me angry. I am going to have to do my mental health some good and stay away from Newcastle news sources for a while.

Re: The next manager?
Bruce was recently interviewed and was quite happy at Sheffield Wed. He was alluding to the long term project, the promotion aim etc. He looked quite chilled at the thought of the gig ahead. For me that said it all , he's at his level, a plodding big team in the Championship with no immediate demands for top two. I don't think he'd last six months at SJP, his managerial Premier league ship has well and truly sailed................surely

Still in two minds as to whether to renew my membership and go to the Arsenal game but if Bruce is appointed then that's me finished.

I'm amazed that you're in two minds about going,Ulvers Toon. I would have thought it was a no brainer.
I hope it turns out to be a massive "no show" from true Toon fans. They are the fans who really care about the club's interests, not just somewhere to go

I'll seriously rather take Pardew than Bruce. God just no. Viera, Gerrard, Arteta and the like would be better. Something young, refreshing, exciting and risky.

Young up and coming managers won’t come anywhere near us under the current regime. They have very little to gain, will have to work in an incredibly challenging setting and chances are will have very little opportunity to enhance their reputation.

Re: The next manager?
I had a nightmare Pardew actually came back. I think I would marginally prefer Bruce as Steve Bruce is at least not a horrendous person. Just a s**** manager. Pardew is both.
