Re: Holidays
Not a holiday, but in Dublin on Monday and Tuesday night next week for work. Might have a few hours to do a bit of sightseeing - any recommendations other than the obvious (the obvious being the Guiness factory).

Re: Holidays
After weeks of trying to work out where to go on holiday we've opted now to spend two weeks at home this summer doing very, very little.

Leinster road is s nice spot for shopping and quiet enough if you want to take some photos of old buildings. Nice pubs tooBodacious Benny wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2019 7:46 amNot a holiday, but in Dublin on Monday and Tuesday night next week for work. Re: Holidays
Anyone know the limits for taking spirits back in checked luggage going from US to UK?
Looked online and some places say 5 litres can go in your suitcase and others say only one litre.

Re: Holidays
Booked a long weekend to Lisbon in early November. Just me and the missus having a trip away on our own for the first time in years and it's a place I've promised to take her for almost 20 years.
I can taste the cherry liqueur and custard tarts already!

Isn't that Baltics and not Balkans?overseasTOON wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 12:55 pmEstonia?
Thinking of a weeks holiday flying into Tallin and a 2 day stay via ferry to Helsinki in mid-August.
Whenever anyone mentions SW Poland I'm always brought to think of this:

I hear that the Park in the west of the city, the Salt Mine and Ojcow national park are definitely worth a visit

Re: Holidays
Lisbon was great fun and managed to take the missus around pretty much everything. Took a day trip to Sintra and started the climb up to the palace and castle as the views are great... when its not foggy as f***!! Couldnt see 5 feet in front of you
All in all it was quite a cheap break away until lunch on the final day. A double Michelin restaurant ranked number 42 in the world. Food was astounding and very clever, wine was great and the final bill was a heart attack.

One of my favourite places! Great food, great wine and more stuff than we could cram into a fortnight.overseasTOON wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 6:09 pmLisbon was great fun and managed to take the missus around pretty much everything. Any recommendations for somewhere to stay for a couple of nights in Florence?
My Girlfriend and I are going to a friend’s wedding in Italy near Lake Garda in July. We’ll be heading down to Puglia afterwards but looking to break up the journey with a few days in Florence beforehand.
Any personal recommendations for things to see or do there is also appreciated!
