Is there a better cheap striker out there available on a free? Obviously the local bit is a bonus, but reading the rumours about terms it looks like a can't lose for us. If he's s*** he won't play, if he's good he will. Personally thinking back to that season and a half when he was just barging through defenses he was the closest thing we've had to Shearer since Shearer. If he can be even half that it's better than what Joselu has managed, plus he's a handy trainer for Sorensen.

Signed for Watford yesterday. I wouldn't have minded Welbeck either.. but Carroll on a low pay as you go packet isn't too shabby. I mean he's better than Joselu, even though that isn't really saying much. Kuqi was better than Joselu..

Yeah I saw that, surprised he didn't go earlier in the window to be honest. Wages may have been an issue with him, as well as injury issues. Carroll works for me as a backup. Still a lot of pressure on our £40m striker to hit the ground running.
