It would never work, but....

Post by ToonViking » Mon Aug 12, 2019 2:59 pm

Hatem Ben Arfa’s a free agent. I know he’s not very professional, but oh for just ONE more mazy run, one more «how the feck did he do that?» goal. A bit like an ex who, even though you know exactly why she was bad news you can’t help thinking «but the good bits, phwoaaarrr.» HBA is as mad as a march hare, but that goal against Bolton...

He's 'played' under Bruce before. No chance.

The nostalgia in me wanted us to sign him, and tbh he might have linked up well with the other new attackers, but it would almost definitely have ended on a sour note. We have a full squad now so don’t think there’s any chance of him pulling on a Toon shirt for the rest of this season

Not worth wasting a squad place on him.
Kindly deeds done for free!

This. Even though I would love it. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Ben Arfa is the type of player who can play until his mid 30s due to his quality on the ball, quick feet, dribbling, passing, vision and speed of thought he wasn't necessary the fastest in terms of sprint speed but his vision, ball control and footballing made up for it. If Carroll came back.. why not give Arfa a one year contract see how he does.. better than having the likes of Atsu and Gayle on the bench. <awe>
