What was the point of Michael Hector leaving Reading to go to Chelsea?!!

No offence to Reading, but it’s probably slightly nicer living in Kensington and Chelsea than it is Reading <roll>

It’s like someone such as Lucas Piazon. Been at Chelsea since 2011 and has appeared once for then in all that time! He’s been on loan to:

Malaga
Vitesse
Frankfurt
Reading
Fulham
Chievo
Rio Ave

He’s now 25 and clearly nothing more than a journeyman footballer, they might as well release him.

When Piazon signed he stated: "I chose Chelsea because I like the Premier League. I think my way of playing and my skills are more suited to the Premier League"

Hindsight is a b****.

Point: to get paid more. By a club with better facilities, more resources and likely better staff. He probably knew he had no chance to break through, but he also probably knew he couldn't pass up the very slim chance he could.

Chelsea have got plenty like this.

Matt Miazga: Signed January 2016, has played twice and is now on loan at Reading aged 24.
Izzy Brown: poached at 16 from West Brom, 6 years later he's had numerous loans with 1 Chelsea appearance in there.
Marko van Ginkel: Signed at 20 in 2013, has played four times in that time and been on multiple loans.
Kenneth Omeruo: Signed in January 2012, has only just left. Never appeared in a game for Chelsea.

I remember him arriving with a reputation of being a wonderkid so I don't know if any of the above is true for this specifically for him, but it's all very logical and definitely can be agreed that it could be the case for other players.

Anyone referred to as ‘the next...’ whoever is doomed to fail <laugh>

Hugo Viana was the next Figo, Bruno Cheyrou was the next Zidane!

True, and it was invalidated speculation, but there was more of an expectation than signing a guy and leaving him in the reserves / sent out on loan.

Kakuta was another who had massive expectation but was a complete flop.

That Gael Kakuta kid, Chelsea got him to walk out on Lens. He did and they complained to FIFA and they gave Chelsea a two year transfer ban, Kakuta was banned from playing for Four Months and also fined him €780,000 fine for breaching his Lens contract. Chelsea managed to get the punishment for Katuta and their transfer ban lifted in court. That kid was sent out on loan all over the place, He joined in 2007 and only played in 6 games for Chelsea, And was released in 2015, He was supposed to be a fantastic prospect.

Just noticed also that the keeper Jamal Blackman is still on Chelsea's books I remember always singing him on Fm 11 or something, He has never played for Chelsea and is on loan at Vitesse. Something dodgy going on at Chelsea, 30 odd players a season out on loan Chelsea must be paying part if not all of their wages, Might be using Chelsea to launder money.

Forgot all about Ignacio Gonzalez, Wasn't he signed on loan as a favour to a South American agent, Nufc were going to get first dibs on talent from over there.
Facundo Ferreya must of been signed as another favour

At this point Richard osman might be more able to fill the "tall man for crosses" than Andy Carroll due to injuries. Get him signed
