He's probably been one of their best players too in fairness. He needs players around him as well. England don't have another midfielder like him and they need one. He's everything Wilshere was meant to be and a little bit more.Remember Colo wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 6:48 amMaybe he too's been playing well for England, but he like nearly every Tottenham player has looked really poor this season. I think he's talented, but they're in terrible form right now.

I think Wilshere when he was fit and in form (obviously going back a few years) was head and shoulders above Winks.

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Wales.
The remaining four places will be decided via play-offs involving no less than 16 countries. They consist of one-legged semi-finals on March 26th 2020 and one-legged finals on March 31st 2020.
The Finals draw takes place on November 30th, with the playoff pairings formally confirmed on Thursday, although some are known now:

Bulgaria/Israel v Israel/Hungary
B
Bosnia & Herzegovina v Northern Ireland
Slovakia v Republic of Ireland

How do the play-offs work?
The draw for the play-offs will take place on Friday, 22 November with the 16 teams in the draw split into four paths - A, B, C and D.
Each path contains four teams, with their rankings determined by their performance in the Uefa Nations League.
Each path will be divided into two single-leg semi-finals. There the best-ranked team will host the worst-ranked team and the team ranked second will host the team ranked third. The winner of each semi-final will contest a final.
At the draw it will also be determined which semi-final winner plays the final at home. The winners of each of the four play-off finals will join the 20 teams who have qualified automatically.

I know it's just the way things settled out, but those pools don't look particularly even. Though at least it might result in some fresh faces in Euro 2020.

Re: EURO 2020
Never been a fan of the 24 team competition format with only 8 teams being eliminated after the group stages, it actually appears harder not to qualify for the knock-out stages than to reach them! (I hope that made sense! )
Re: EURO 2020
It's awful. Portugal won it 4 years ago by winning 1 game in 90 minutes(the semi final).UlversToon wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 6:56 pmNever been a fan of the 24 team competition format with only 8 teams being eliminated after the group stages, it actually appears harder not to qualify for the knock-out stages than to reach them! Re: EURO 2020
Without question, it has to be 16 or 32 teams. The 2026 World Cup is going up to 48 teams which is going to be equally s***. If you want to expand it go the whole hog and stick 64 in, at least then the bracket has a bit of shape.
Basically what I'm saying is that tournaments must always have the same number of teams as a 90s games console has bits.

Re: EURO 2020
With the 4 best 3rd placed sides in the groups qualifying for the knockout stages chances are France, Germany and Portugal will all go through. Not quite the "group of death" it appears to be!

Euro 2024 they’ll probably just let every team qualify and then progress to the knockouts the way it’s going.
