Match thread - Wolves V NUFC
Wolves (a)
Newcastle travel to face Wolves at Molineux in an old-fashioned 3pm kick-off on Saturday.
The Magpies have sold their full 3,000 allocation.
Steve Bruce's side will be looking to avoid their fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League, something they last endured in April 2018.
United are unbeaten on their last five visits to Molineux and have never lost there in the Premier League. Their last top-flight reverse there was in November 1977.
Avoiding defeat will preserve their positive Premier League goal difference, currently at +1, having scored 1,269 goals and conceded 1,268 since August 1993.
It has been positive since Alex Mathie fired in our third during the 4-2 win over Sheffield Wednesday at home on a memorable Monday night in our seventh game of our first season in the re-formed top flight.
Only nine other sides currently boast an all-time PL positive goal difference: Manchester United (1,067), Arsenal (830), Chelsea (775), Liverpool (763), Manchester City (431), Spurs (247), Leeds United (68), Everton (38) and Blackburn Rovers (20).
And bottom of that particular pile sit the mackems who tumbled out of the top tier with their all-time Premier League goal difference in tatters; -292.
The next goal scored on the road will be our 500th in the Premier League; Matty Longstaff's Old Trafford opener making it 499 away from home since Peter Atherton's own goal against Coventry City at Highfield Road in August 1993.
NUFC: Paul Dummett, Dwight Gayle, Miguel Almiron and Andy Carroll should all be available, while Allan Saint-Maximin could make a return.
Also back training now are Jetro Willems and Ciaran Clark, but it's unclear whether either could be in contention for Saturday.
Javier Manquillo, Fabian Schar, Jonjo Shelvey and Yoshinori Muto remain sidelined while Jamaal Lascelles is closing in on a return, but presumably not this weekend after undergoing solo warm weather training in Dubai this week.
U23 players Ludwig Francillette, Lewis Cass and Tom Allan were all pictured in training this week and along with Elias Sorensen look to be in line for possible bench selection against Rochdale on Tuesday.

WWFC: A 0-0 home draw with Manchester United in the FA Cup Third Round saw Nuno Espirito Santo make five changes to his Premier League XI.
Winless in their last three league and cup outings, Wolves have won four, drawn four and lost the remaining two of their ten PL home games - Chelsea and Spurs leaving with all three points.
The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the first meeting this season at Gallowgate in October.
Travel:
Metro: There's no service between South Gosforth and Heworth on Saturday or Sunday. Bus replacement service 900 runs between Regent Centre and Heworth calling at all stations.
Trains: The threat of strike action affecting West Midlands Railway services has been lifted, after agreement was reached with the RMT union.
Referee: Peter Bankes - first appointment involving us for the Liverpudlian this season and only the sixth Premier League fixture of his career.
We saw Bankes twice in the Championship season, as he took charge of the epic 4-3 home victory over Norwich City and returned to SJP as we beat Aston Villa 2-0.
VAR decisions will come from Chris Kavanagh.

Re: Match thread - Wolves V NUFC
1-3 Wolves. Joelinton to score a screamer but Jimenez to bag a brace and Traore to run us ragged ending in him providing an assist and goal. You heard it here first.

Auf Wiedersehen Pet starts from the very beginning on the Drama Channel (Freeview 20) from 13:20hrs this afternoon! Might watch that instead of the game.
Re: Match thread - Wolves V NUFC
Kelland Watts and Tom Allen both at Molineux apparently - presumably one on the bench and one the 19th man.

So do we reckon Hayden at full back as Flashscores suggests, or 4-3-3 with Willems at right back?
