Match thread - Palace v NUFC
Crystal Palace (a)
The Magpies are in London for a second successive weekend when they face Roy Hodgson's Eagles at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
And it's yet another "sentimental return" to a former club for Steve Bruce, who took charge of Palace for an 18 game spell during 2001 before defecting to fellow second tier side Birmingham City.
It's an old-fashioned 3pm kick-off and all 2,800 away section tickets have now been sold.
NUFC: Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett, Emil Krath, Jonjo Shelvey and Andy Carroll all miss out.
Speaking on Friday, Steve Bruce confirmed that Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto were fit, but Joelinton was doubtful with a thigh problem and Christian Atsu unwell.
Javier Manquillo is back in training but apparently not in contention for Palace.

NUFC 7/2
The draw 11/5
Palace win 10/11
HT score 0-0 5/4
BTTS in 2nd half 16/5
Almiron first scorer, NUFC win 20/1
CPFC: Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins remain sidelined but Jeffrey Schlupp could return from injury.
The Eagles have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last ten Premier League games and won just once in their most recent 11 PL outings.
Transport:
Metro: There's no service between Shiremoor and South Gosforth all day on Saturday and Sunday.
Tube: There will be significant disruption to tube travellers on Saturday and Sunday, with the whole of the Circle Line and parts of the Metropolitan, District, Hammersmith & City and Northern Line closed for planned maintenance.
Industrial action on the Bakerloo Line meanwhile will see that virtually shut down until Monday.
Train: There are no planned disruptions to services into Kings Cross this weekend, but an amended timetable into St. Pancras will be in place.
Line closures affect London Overground and there will be a reduced Thameslink service between Bedford, Luton and Gatwick Airport all weekend.
Liverpool Street Station is also partially closed.
Referee: Peter Bankes makes a swift return after taking charge of our FA Cup replay success at Oxford United earlier this month.
VAR: Andy Madley

This has all the hallmarks Of being one of the worst games of football of all time.

5-4 Newcastle, Joelinton hat trick, OG, and one from a Dubravka goal kick.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 9:19 amThis has all the hallmarks Of being one of the worst games of football of all time.

Re: Match thread - Palace v NUFC
I can see us getting something out of the game - a red card and a couple of injuries!
Seriously though a very scrappy 1-0 for The Toon.

Re: Match thread - Palace v NUFC
A epic and entertaining 4-3 victory to the... hosts! Zaha brace, Benteke with a header and Ayew with a last minute screamer to win it. Gayle to haunt his old club with a goal, Lascelles with a header and ASM with a curler from outside the box.

Bentaleb has been garbage again today
Re: Match thread - Palace v NUFC
Bentaleb has literally given the ball away about 90% of the time he’s had it. Not a good day at the races

Shouldn’t have been a free kick. EXACT same happened to Joelinton 10 mins before and it went (rightly) ignored. Ref has been a f***ing joke all game
