Italy seems to be onto the downward curve of new infections, although the rate is still high, its peaked and now seems to have slowed over the last couple of days, could be a big week for them 🤞
My worry is that it shoots up again when they start relaxing some of the restrictions.

Did my second lockdown run today - I haven’t run outside for years so calves are killing me <laugh> Day off tomorrow then run again on Friday.

I've never seen so many people running/on bikes! It's like people are worried they will get clubbed to death if they leave the house without shorts/t shirt/leggings on <laugh>

Went out today to get the weekly groceries. Looks like business as normal.

I think half a million will be dead here within the next 6 weeks.

That would require something like 25 million to be infected within the next 3 weeks... seems like a lot

Thanks. On complete lock down. Wife a doctor so she is getting a test to see if she can work
Hope everything is okay, and if it is CV, hope it's a mild one (even though mild is still pretty s***!)
Not too bad so far. I think I might just have a coincidental cold. Symptoms on a one in one out basis. Lost fever, gained tickly cough

Pretty sure Hjl is in the US? They broke 1000 deaths yesterday, and are doubling roughly every 3 days at the moment. It only takes 9 more doublings to reach 500,000, so about 4 weeks if no mitigating action is taken. Projecting their total tested cases, that would be around 35m out of 320m then (but then there's all those untested and asymptomatic to think about).

There is a lot being made now of the tragic cases of the younger people who have died with no underlying health conditions. I think a lot of people will become more worried about it now. It's difficult to rationalise it without treating these people as a statistic or coming across as utterly tactless, but there is a small chance that anyone can get a bad case of this, regardless of age and health. Similarly old, unwell people catching it doesn't mean they will certainly die. Unfortunately some people will be very unlucky which is why it's absolutely vital that everyone does what they can to slow the spread of this.

Ordered a chinese last night. Little chinese driver comes to the door and I walk out to meet him. He shouts "isolate, isolate". I say, "mate calm down, I only ordered half an hour ago."

My first day out of the house tomorrow in many weeks so I'm looking forward to it for a simple shop.

Hopefully some gin, tonics and greens veg but mainly the booze bit if available.

Police setting up roadblocks here, beginning the slow tightening of it all. All still feels normal for me, ish, sat at home on a day off only really feels weird when I'm out and about, queuing up to get in supermarket (Morrisons very good with it all) the social distancing walk and wearing gloves all the time.

Yeah there was a police check in the town where my parents live (I'm staying there for lockdown) so when I came back from Tesco earlier got stopped and they were asking why I was out. Said I'd been shopping and had to open the boot (trunk for the benefit of our North American members <roll> ) to show them the shopping. I was out on my own but they were bollocking people who were out with 2 in a car and asking if it was necessary.

BBC wrote:Former Premier League footballer Nolberto Solano has been arrested in his native Peru for breaking a coronavirus curfew to attend a party.

Peru President Martin Vizcarra has banned people from leaving their houses in many cities from 20:00 until 05:00.

More than 18,000 people have been arrested for ignoring social distancing measures in the South American country.

Mr Solano, 45, who played more than 300 games for Newcastle United, said he was just chatting to friends at a neighbour's house and it was not a party. He was later released.
