Weekend Football - 16/17/18 May 2020
Football is back!
Well sort of. The Bundesliga resumes this weekend, so at least there is something to watch / bet on. All games are live on BT Sport. You can also watch them via the SkyBet app, though presumably you have to have a bet on the game you're watching to qualify for the live stream.
Also now that NUFC staff have been unfurloughed in preparation for the Premier League restarting, the YouTube streaming of a classic NUFC game is also back! This weeks offering is Sir Bobby Robson's first home game as manager, an 8-0 Premier League win over Sheffield Wednesday with Shearer scoring 5.

I don't have BT Sport Extra which is a bit naff, I was going to watch the NFL Redzone type thing they have on there.

Watching Owen Hargreaves trying to smile is so cringe worthy.

People think I'm miserable because I dont really smile, and its for this exact reason. My smile looks so sarcastic, I feel his pain.CIH wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2020 4:49 pmThe Deluded Pablo Diego Jose Francisco wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2020 4:09 pmWatching Owen Hargreaves trying to smile is so cringe worthy.

Looking at Frankfurt's and Schalke's performances, i cannot help but think that this is how we'll play under the new conditions.

Tho we play in a silent stadium a lot of the time anyway, other than fans groaning - so maybe not so bad after all.

And I'm not sure what the conditions had to do with Shalke playing badly in an away match at an empty stadium? If anything a derby match away with no crazy Dortmund fans should have been a better situation than than normal circumstances.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2020 5:56 pmProbablyThe Deluded Pablo Diego Jose Francisco wrote: ↑Sat May 16, 2020 5:05 pmLooking at Frankfurt's and Schalke's performances, i cannot help but think that this is how we'll play under the new conditions.

That said. a listless performance played on the back foot does seem like what we should probably expect.

Re: Weekend Football - 16/17/18 May 2020
Their form was poor before lockdown anyway. They’d won three in 2020 and one of those was after ET in the cup. Lots of draws and a few hammerings. Added to that they just came off the back of weeks of not playing, minimal training and first game back being against Dortmund and it was never going to go well.

Wasnt sure who you were talking about at first, its a pretty accurate description of Newcastle!HowayTheLads wrote: ↑Sun May 17, 2020 10:56 amTheir form was poor before lockdown anyway. Also, apparently Newcastle is twinned with gelsenkirchen, home of schalke.
