Whilst I think we’ll be safe until it’s mathematical I’ll take teams below us losing personally. We’re not going to finish high enough up the table for it to make much difference either way with regards to other teams I.e. we’re not going to get a European spot. I’d rather keep a decent gap to the bottom 5 teams.

Personally, I still prefer we finish as high in the table as possible. I like to think there's more to a season than just avoiding relegation or Europe - or at least I've convinced myself of that as a Newcastle fan.

Haha true - but we all know we’re more than capable of going on a long winless run <laugh>

4 points from the first 2 games is decent, but nobody will be surprised if we go to Bournemouth and lose in our next league match.

Villa and West ham would be the relegation dream. If only because they have players I think will do well for us in McGinn/Bowen, and that we'd likely be in for them if they go down. I really think we dropped a bollock with Bowen in January, goals from the right is exactly what our attack needs and Lazaro hasn't done anything of note imo

The BT commentators pretending there has been drama and nerves for Liverpool fans tonight...everyone knows they had had one after New Year and there was zero doubt about it.

So it begins. Obviously its fully deserved but this is going to be framed like its the greatest ever title win, Sky Sports already have a conference call full of ex liverpool.

To be fair for the most part they seem to be distancing. Certainly more so than the people hanging about on Bournemouth beach.

I've allowed my Scouse inlaws a few days of celebration and have informed them that from Monday morning I dont want to hear anymore about the title.

They did what leicester city, but spent a couple tens of million more. Hardly an achievement when the only team that could challenge them was off form and taking other competitions seriously.

I think it is an achievement so won’t join the Liverpool bashing. For the past two seasons now they’ve won virtually every game they’ve played, regardless of if others haven’t been as strong this season that is still a remarkable achievement. They are current English, European and World Champions (for what that’s worth). They haven’t spent Man C levels of money, when you look at the money they’ve received for selling players Over the last 3 seasons compared to what they’ve spent they’ve done very good business. Klopp has made them likeable and they haven’t been held to ransom and paid stupid money for middle of the road players (see the likes of Man U with Maguire).

Next season will be interesting with Liverpool up there, Man C will come back stronger and Chelsea look like they could get back up there with the amount of attacking talent they’ll have when their new signings arrive. A new winner is good for the PL.

<ok>

The argument that they only won it because Man City weren't really trying is absurd, they've got 86 points with 7 games so can conceivably beat the record, and were unbeaten til what, February?

The wankfest is as bad as I expected, the fact they have won the title at the end of june has just been used as an example of them "breaking records". What next, the record for the only team to win the PL during a global pandemic.

Earlier sky had warnock explaining what pressing is and going like liverpool and klopp invented it and how they are the only team that can pull it off.

Oh and apparently TAA is the only player in the league that can play as a Rb, Rwb, or as a right winger.
