Hes the only signing I've been unsure about. Dont know a great deal about him but judging from his struggles to get a game in a s*** Arsenal defence i didn't have high hopes.
Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)
I don't know much about him, but you'd have to say that barring a clear out we really don't need a centre half.

Chronicle claiming Schar is one of the players we are looking to ship out, so CB still being looked at as well as another striker.

Lejeune is an odd one. When fit looked like our best CB imo. Bruce not keen it seems

I don't understand how he thinks he would be ready for the Premier League when he has struggled to get into Championship and Serie B teams.

Problem with Lejeune is we don't know how he is mentally after his 2 injuries, yes he was probably our best defender the other year but its highly questionable whether we can get him to that level again. Its a shame but understandable why we would look to move him on.

Yep Lejuene is an odd one but I think it does make sense.
He has fallen behind Lascelles, Fede and Clark (maybe even Schar though i've heard reports of interest in him too) in the pecking order so it would make sense for him to go out on loan and play some games get his fitness and match readiness back to were it should be. We can then evaluate next season

If a back 3 then Lascelles and Fernandez will be first choice, Clarke next in line to come in for either or part of a back three.
Schar is out for a while yet and looked so bad after lockdown that he'll be on the bench (if not sold), I'd like to see Lejeune in the team but as said he's had a lot of injuries and not played a lot of football.
Dummett is a useful player who'll cover a couple of positions and not moan if he's on the bench.

I think we'll more then likely play a back 4 for the majority of games perhaps outside of games against the likes of Man City, Liverpool etc.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 1:02 pmIf a back 3 then Lascelles and Fernandez will be first choice, Clarke next in line to come in for either or part of a back three.

Lejuene seems to be on his way out to Alaves on loan to get game time
I think Schar may be on his way out too if there are takers
Would mean our centre back options would be
Lascelles, Fede, Clark, Dummett (Cover), someone in on loan* (to cover the Lejuene year away)
* be this Holding who i think was our main target, we also asked about Shane Duffy but he wanted to go to Celtic as he supports them.
I've also heard rumours of Daniel Ayala who is currently a free agent after leaving Boro as an option but that would obviously be more of a permanent move or at the very least a 2 year deal.

If we're letting two CBs go, we need two CBs in. Unless we're committing to 4 at the back, in which case 5 should suffice.

We definitely are committing to 4 at the back - hence Schar and Lejeune, who are both suited to 5 at the back, are on their way out.Captain Obvious wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 1:26 pmIf we're letting two CBs go, we need two CBs in. I think Dummett as the 5th choice CB is totally fine, and is a great choice for a back 3. However I think if we're shipping out Schar and Lejeune we need a ball-playing centre-back, who can play in a 4, and do the dirty work too. That won't come cheap.
I had the first custom w***

Talk of us looking at a loan with an option to buy for Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic, AC Milan were also interested but they've confirmed permanent signing of Simon Kjaer so it would be unlikely they'll go for him now.
He'd certainly fit the ball playing defender and would have potential sell on value

Would be a very good signing. Bags of potential, Norway international and at 6ft 6'' a real threat in the air on both sides of the pitch.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 2:22 pmTalk of us looking at a loan with an option to buy for Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic, AC Milan were also interested but they've confirmed permanent signing of Simon Kjaer so it would be unlikely they'll go for him now.

Shame to see Lejune go but if we're not going to play the three at back system no more then so be it.. even if Schar departs we still have Clark as 3rd choice and Dummet as 4th choice which is still decent. If we could get in Ajer as 3rd choice with him learning from Fernandez/Lascelles and eventually replacing Fernandez next season than that would be excellent business.. Ajer's 22 so one for the future.

Whenever I read 6ft 6' I always think of Sheriff Fatman by Carter and the USM.
Have done since the 90's.

Hopefully this isn't true, i can't ever imagine a young physically imposing central defender from Celtic ever coming to the Premier League and making a success of it.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 2:22 pmTalk of us looking at a loan with an option to buy for Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic, AC Milan were also interested but they've confirmed permanent signing of Simon Kjaer so it would be unlikely they'll go for him now.
