Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)
It seems to just be me, but I don't think Dummett is actually a (good) CB. Though for years I thought he'd be a better fit there than LB. But he's just awful in the air, and especially in a back 4 that faces as much pressure as we do, I really wouldn't want to see him become our 4th choice CB. He and Clarke have faced a lot of injuries of their own the past few seasons too.

Apparently this guy was spot on with Rogerio, but Norwich accepting the lewis bid scuppered the move. So this is pretty interesting.

I was spot on when I said we were signing Messi, that was scuppered when Ryan Fraser signed up. ITK.

Let just not post anything in the forum then eh
Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)
I think it's this thread worthy, I just don't see "he reported a transfer that didn't happen" as massive evidence of legitimacy. I was being a bit facetious too, he is quite ITK like.

Romano is usually spot on... Not sure how much that means coming from me though
I'll Hazard a guess

Really weird. Could it be crossed wires about the January bid?
I had the first custom w***

We can’t make a new thread for every link or unsubstantiated bid. I like having all the rumours etc in one place until there’s something more concrete.

Wouldn't make sense though.. we already have too many CM's unless we selling Hayden/Shelvey I don't see how would a) spend that much on 1 player b) a position that's not a priority right now and c) Isn't 35 mil our spending budget? We already spent 20 and 15 on Wilson & Lewis respectively.. with Fraser & Hendrick on a free. We need a back-up/someone to compliment Wilson up top & a CB to replace the outgoing Lejune. Both of them will either be freebies/cheapies or loan deals. I can't see us spending any more now.. hope I'm wrong though.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 3:08 pm

Hopefully he plays and comes back fully match fit and can get back into the team. He’s a very good player, last thing I’ll want is for him to have a good loan spell there then be flogged on the cheap.
Wonder if we’re holding station with the CBs we’ve got or have someone lined up. We’re not desperate with Lascelles, Fernandez, Clarke, Dummett and Schar (when he’s back).

Good news. Hayden is a top pro.
Darlow is fine for backup keeper but after this season it should be time for Woodman to stake a claim for first team #1.

Six years for Hayden and Five for Darlow. I think Hayden is underrated by most other club fans, even by some of our fans. Like you say, top pro and gets on with the dirty stuff. Seems like he's put wanting to move back down south behind him. Darlow's long contract could cast doubts over Woodman's future. I'm just seeing a lot of similarities to what happened with Fraser Forster a few years back. I can't see him coming back next season to replace Dubravka as number 1 right away, or be happy being third choice behind him and Darlow. We'd have four keepers on the books including Gillespie. I wouldn't be surprised if Swansea come in for him on a permanent next summer. Especially if they get promoted.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 10:55 amGood news. Hayden is a top pro.

Great news on Hayden, if any of our fans watch him regularly and don't rate him they need their heads examining.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2020)
I'd argue we've been in need of a better starting CM for more than 5 years now. Until we have a better central midfield, we'll be playing on the backfoot with the opposing team dictating play. I'm fine with our current 5 options as depth, but none of them are good enough that they can't be improved upon.Sanchino wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 5:58 pmWouldn't make sense though.. we already have too many CM's unless we selling Hayden/Shelvey I don't see how would a) spend that much on 1 player b) a position that's not a priority right now and c) Isn't 35 mil our spending budget?
