Post by Cal » Wed Sep 16, 2020 9:30 pm

Launching 12th November in:
US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea

Launching 19th November in:
"Rest of the World"
Digital Edition is the same as the regular PS5, but without a disc drive and at a considerably lower price point, but you are then locked into digital purchases only.

Will it be backwards compatible with PS4 games?

If not; digital seems the best option.

The "overwhelming majority" of PS4 game discs will work on PS5.

They're also rolling out a "PlayStation Plus Collection", which is essentially a best of the PS4 library, it's presuming this will be included in your standard PS Plus subscription. Having this will grant digital access to:
  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Battlefield 1
  • Bloodborne
  • Days Gone
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • Fallout 4
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • God of War
  • Infamous Second Son
  • Monster Hunter World
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Persona 5
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
  • The Last Guardian
  • The Last of Us Remastered
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
  • Until Dawn
Sony are now pursuing a £70 RRP though, so expect to pay a high price for digital games direct from them.

Digital for me then as all I have is FIFA on the PS4!

I have too many ps4 discs to go digital, which is a shame because in the last 2 years all my purchases but RDR2 have been digital in Playstation sales, so I expect I'd mainly do the same for PS5, because f*** paying $70 for a game.

Forgot about the pre-orders so missed that.

Logged into John Lewis this morning about 8:02 and was behind about 100,000+ in the queue.
Refreshed the Currys page and was in a pretty similar position.

12pm and I refreshed the Amazon listing for the PS5. It showed me a picture of a lovely dog instead. Refresh after refresh - dog after dog.

Arse

Yep been huge demand as you’d expect.

I was planning to get one in Spring.

I managed to get on in February. Enjoy Astro's Playroom, really shows off the controller.

I'm hoping some PS5 exclusives come out soon, because at the moment I just use it as a super smooth PS4

Yeah always the way isn't it when new consoles come out. I bought the Last of Us Part II for a tenner so that'll be me for now.

Cancelled my order - pisstake from GAME.

Pre ordered, confirmed and they took the money. Console was due to be delivered to store on Tuesday but no sign and no update, plus GAME no longer have a customer service number you can call.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart looks like the first truly next-gen game - just a shame I'm not getting a PS5 any time soon...

Still chasing a refund from GAME more than a month after my PS5 pre-order never arrived in store! The store have even emailed the main HQ last Friday to confirm that they never received the console so f*** knows what's taking so long!
