Chris Hughton appointed Notiingham Forest manager, I wonder if he saw coming that in his rear view mirror!

Forest fans were hilarious that season . To be fair to them, they did go on a 19 match unbeaten streak, but then they absolutely choked and f***ed up the playoffs. "We're in pole position for second" is something that will stay with me forever . Third, then . They're now in pole position for 23rd.

They were unbeaten all season away then lost their last 8 or 9 (away) bottled it completely, smashed by Blackpool in the play offs too. The Lansbury OG when he then played for Villa was a beautiful moment on many levels

Atsu should join Forest.. they already have Sammy Ameobi on one wing imagine Atsu on the other.. both two decent Championship quality wingers.

Gary Monk sacked by Sheffield Wednesday, perhaps they'll try and persuade Steve Bruce to go back as his replacement.

Haven't they been doing alright aside from the points deduction?UlversToon wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 9:41 pmGary Monk sacked by Sheffield Wednesday, perhaps they'll try and persuade Steve Bruce to go back as his replacement.
Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
Not really, the points deduction was just dropped to 6 points which makes them look a bit better, but they'd be just above relegation even if they hadn't had it.

Sol Campbell linked with the job. Feel sorry for the fans if that happens

Did fairly well at Macclesfield but struggled at Southend didn't he? Seems a bit of a jump. Are we sure they don't want Bruce back?
Edit. Saying that, we'd probably end up with Campbell

I don't know that any manager would have done well under the circumstances at Southend, but agreed that he probably hasn't shown enough to deserve a promotion from L2 to the Championship.

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
Demonstration of ability or prior success isn’t always a prerequisite for getting a managerial job in football I guess. Gerrard and Lampard for example really had no right to walk into the jobs they did but did so purely on their reputation as players. Giggs is another. It’s worked pretty well for them so far (Lampard and Gerrard more so) but doesn’t always happen. Scholes at Oldham was a bit of a disaster, Cocu is tanking at Derby, I’m sure there are others but I’ve just finished work after starting at 9 this morning so I’m too tired to think

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
The SPL is a two horse race and Celtic have shot thier horse in the hoof. As for Lampard, if I had the same resources as him, I'd fancy my own ability to manage Chelsea, I'd definitley have them tighter at the back

I'm sure I read that it was largely his assistant at Macclesfield that was good.
