No huge surprises. Almiron has had a long trip and shelvey/Hendrick/Hayden were always going to play so no Fraser.

What do Fraser and Almiron have to do to start? Bruce was giving it the big one about taking the game to them etc, but goes with the same old again. Even just a little tweak to represent that you're playing someone different would be nice. Putting Hendrick central for Shelvey and starting Fraser on the right would've been a good start for me.

Same team that beat Burnley bar Lascelles coming in, I don't think there can be many complaints logically. Obviously I'd have Shelvey off, but given Longstaff is out that means a switch to a two man midfield against Man Utd.

Can't really expect changes in central midfield when we don't have any other central midfielders (why I've wanted improvement there for years). But I don't like running out the same side waiting until you get bad results to then make a change. Seems like there was opportunity to mix things up a little. Though if they play well and he maybe makes changes a little earlier I'll get over it.

Love this pre-match chat about how he's sending a message to the poorly performing players by dropping them...but Maguire is still in there. All the better for us. I'm predicting an own goal to continue his current form.

Van de Beek must be wondering what it'll take to get a start for Man U. Kinda serves him right for going into a situation where there's no vision for the club. Young potential stars should be steering clear until they sort their s***.

Yeah, going into a season with such a weak central midfield is barmy. Longstaff x2, Shelvey, Hayden and Hendrick - who is being deployed on the right hand side so far anyway, not good enough. Especially as both Longstaffs have had injury issues, as does Shelvey now and again.Remember Colo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 6:45 pmCan't really expect changes in central midfield when we don't have any other central midfielders (why I've wanted improvement there for years). Or he'll be a superman and have an immense performance, getting rid of all the doubts and suddenly worth 120mRemember Colo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 6:48 pmLove this pre-match chat about how he's sending a message to the poorly performing players by dropping them...but Maguire is still in there.
