Another passive defeat
Only saw the second half but don’t recall us threatening at all. Can’t wait for Liverpool to dominate us next. Fulham had a go at them and got a point, we’ll sit so far back we might as well be in the Tyne.

This. Only positive was it ended respectable.. 2-0 will help our goal difference towards the end of the season, it will be a difference ending 18th instead of 19th. Forward thinking by Tactical Guru Bruce. #BruceOutBodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 9:59 pmAnother passive defeat

Apparently we had 12% possession in the second half, that’s an utter embarrassment at any level. If I was a league one side playing Man C in the FA Cup I’d be embarrassed with that. We literally just sit and wait for them to score. Just like we do against every other team in the league.

The sheer fact that this match thread has stumbled into two pages shows the complete apathy these days. Yeah it's christmas and people are busy, but we are just s****. I turned it off after the first goal went in. Not sure why I put it on in the first place, it's just hugely depressing. We are awful. We have a manager with decades of experience who has less tactical nous than something John Carver might crap out after a dodgy night on the town.
12% possession in the second half? f*** me. It doesn't matter who it's against or where it's at, that is just atrocious.

Part of me wants Liverpool to stick 7 past us, at least then Bruce can’t come out with the same old crap.

He's a genuinely better manager and he's been relegated twice, although not officially, since leaving us. Massive t***, though.Sanchino wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 11:21 pmThis.CIH wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 10:45 pmThe sheer fact that this match thread has stumbled into two pages shows the complete apathy these days. "We've played against two of the top teams in the league this past week. We've struggled with fatigue since the covid. It wasn't good enough today, it wasn't good enough. The lad's know that. We have to do better."Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 11:25 pmPart of me wants Liverpool to stick 7 past us, at least then Bruce can’t come out with the same old crap.
It'll be the same record regardless of the score. I can't understand why he claims that we'll have do better yet literally set's up the same way every single week. I think the only time we've looked approaching good this season was against West Ham on the opening day, and that was more down to them being pretty abject and awful. It's as if Bruce thought, solid win to start with, let's stick with it. Rigid, unimaginative, and f***ing bollocks.
How on earth do we have 18 points.

I was barely even checking the score. I don't have BT but I wouldn't have watched it even if it was on Sky, we never stood a chance playing Bruceball against Man City.CIH wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 10:45 pmThe sheer fact that this match thread has stumbled into two pages shows the complete apathy these days. No doubt you'll still have an ill informed opinion as to which CM was least s***ALF wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 12:10 pmI was barely even checking the score. Re: Match thread - Manchester City v Newcastle United
The potato-faced failure openly admitted that all his job involves is to keep the club in the premier league, and that he's ok with that.
The sad fact is that he'll do it, because this is a stupid league this season, and we'll pick up enough points more through luck than judgement.
Anyone who was happy when we got Bruce was an idiot, but it's where we are - a lower mid-table club, with aspirations to maintain that.

Opted to play a few family board games last night and pretty much ignored our match apart from the half and full time scores.
Re: Match thread - Manchester City v Newcastle United
To be fair to Pards he's not as bad as a manager as he's made out to be. He did good at West Ham & Palace got them both into two cup finals.. not saying he's a top class or will ever be a top class manager but he's just a average manager who's had good (Palace, West Ham, Newcastle 11/12 season, Europa League, etc) .. average / mediocre spells (Charlton/Southampton) & bad spells (West Brom, De Hang)...
Better than Bruce, McClearen, Carver, etc.. that's not saying much but yeah. He got us into the Europa League & you could argue he's been one of our best managers (on paper) since Robson as he got us back into Europe..

Pardew is just at the upper end of the "utter ****" table, above the likes of McLaren and Bruce, but still not a good enough manager for the PL.
