Did a self test today as part of a research thing. The throat swab was so difficult for me, nearly threw up twice <laugh>, the nasel swab wasn't too bad, just eye watering.
I had a camera up my nose once and it was a horrible experience. Makes my eyes water just thinking about it <erk>.

Edit: It's called a nasendoscopy apparently.
I had a colonoscopy last year, makes my eyes water just thinking about it.

Though tbf I think a camera up your nose/down your throat would be worse <laugh>

Just stay away from normal people so the vaccine doesn't shed on them, or whatever it is these tin foil hat nutcases say.

It'll be here very soon :(

Yep. We're on full lockdown now and it's still spreading! Save from banning exercise I don't really see what more they can do. Wield all our front doors shut?

Interestingly he lives alone and obviously works from home. He's either caught it in the supermarket or out exercising on his own. Would be the cautious type too, always carries gel etc, washes his hands when he gets in. Scary stuff.

Not too surprising when you consider how many people pass through supermarkets etc every day, pick things up etc. Social distancing controls in supermarkets do seem to have got slacker tho.

Really it’ll be a case of waiting for nice weather I think (simple as that sounds) as over summer the daily death rates were down in single figures. If it mutates like normal flu etc then presumably we’ll all need an annual vaccine? Vaccinating everyone now won’t wipe out Covid as far as I understand and it’s something that will be around for good.

But if this is more spreadable and deadly than the flu, will a vaccine work? I mean flus still go around and people still die of them, despite the jab. It's just less deadly and less catchy that this. Maybe this vaccine will have to be compulsory for all rather than optional.

I think we'll be getting vaccinated for the next 3 years to try and wipe it out

The vaccines for this have far higher efficiency than the flu vaccines, and will presumably have a greater compliance rate.

Speaking of vaccines, had the 2nd dose of the Moderna one yesterday, and it has hit me much harder than the first. I feel like a pig shat in my head, and I can't move my arm at all without excruciating pain.
