WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 30 APRIL/3 MAY 2021

Post by UlversToon » Fri Apr 30, 2021 10:55 am

Well after the nail biting end to last weekends' game The Toon have the chance to move up to 15th place again tonight whilst on Sunday a win, or even a repeat of the famous 4-4 draw, at St James' Park against Arsenal would surely secure The Magpies place in the Premier League next season.

Arsenal surely focusing on the EL, don’t see any reason at all why we can draw/win the game.

This is “Lucky Bruce Boys” big chance, get his team set up and take this game on to reflect recent upturn in results.
Show us a team that’s set up to be organised motivated forward thinking and prepared to take the fight to an atrocious Arsenal and give us something credible in terms of tactics and performance.
Surely .........🙏

Southampton 1-0 up against Leicester despite being down to 10 men...hopefully Tyler stops mentioning the 9-0 now. He must have made reference to it about 50 times.

It's sad to listen to Martin Tyler these days. He used to be a great commentator but the last few years he's lost his mind and now just rambles on incoherently. He's tarnishing his legacy. Sky need to retire him for everyones sake.

I really don’t think we have to worry about Fulham, just like we didn’t have to a few weeks ago <roll>

For all their “improvement” they still can’t hit a barn door and can’t win a game. Their improvement seemed to be that they lose narrowly rather than getting dicked every week.

Yeah I think we are safe now. We've got a tough run in, sure, but we'd need to lose every single game and Fulham to win every single game. I think if we win today we are mathematically safe, albeit goal difference.

Man U v Liverpool called off due to the long-suffering Man U ‘fans’ protesting.

Bale hattrick, he certainly does well against the PL bottom feeders.

Shame we didn’t have Shola at Brammel Lane earlier this season!

This. I don't see Fulham picking up more than 4-6 points if that by the time they play us (they might beat Burnley/Southampton but don't see them getting anything against Man United) .. which would leave them on 30-33 ish points while we still have Sheffield United to play against & that should confirm our safety mathematically if we avoid defeat. Last game against Fulham should be relaxed & care free. <diva> <awe>

If we need anything against Fulham, it's not good enough at this point. We will lose and we will go down.

Yeah agreed.. if we can't even avoid defeat against Sheffield United who are the bottom team then we deserve to go down. That's the horror nightmare scenario.. Fulham on 33 points & us on 36 points on the last day showdown.. is there goal difference better?? Come on.. you're telling me we can't beat a lowly Sheffield United at home? <urgh>
