Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
Getting Conte's salary off the books might help in the short term then, although I'm not sure who they could legitimately get in under those circumstances. Certainly no one of any pedigree? Funny if someone like Pardew or Sherwood ended up there

Pochettino back to Spurs?
He's said he has unfinished business there.

It was never really on the cards but I wanted to see Southgate at Spurs to be shown up for the crap manager he is. Honestly don’t think he’s any better than Bruce.

All of the giant in-debt clubs should be reducing their wage bills to address their financial difficulties, but clubs like Real Madrid have too much pride and will just seek out other desperate ways to get bailed out while still spending crazy money on players like Alaba.Tsi wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 7:34 pmLooks more like not being able to back him, the owners are in serious financial trouble.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 6:25 pmFair enough, he won the league and would hope to be backed but their owners don't seem to be the greatest.
Their team in China folded 3 months after winning their first title in Feb and there's been talk for a while about Inters top players being sold.

I reckon Everton will poach Nuno, who is supposedly in talks with Crystal Palace, leaving them with a decision to make after losing out on several of their top targets. In my woefully optimistic fantasy, Palace will play the unwitting saviours once again, and pay to take Bruce away

Did you see the Laporta interview?Remember Colo wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 2:26 pmAll of the giant in-debt clubs should be reducing their wage bills to address their financial difficulties, but clubs like Real Madrid have too much pride and will just seek out other desperate ways to get bailed out while still spending crazy money on players like Alaba.
The arrogance of the man talking about sustainability amongst other things and this coming from a man that runs a club over 1billion in debt.
The 3 want football to change to let them continue as is but they refuse to change themselves to become more sustainable.

It would be funnier if he ended up at EvertonCIH wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 3:57 pmI reckon Everton will poach Nuno, who is supposedly in talks with Crystal Palace, leaving them with a decision to make after losing out on several of their top targets. Be significantly ironic if a certain Rafa rocked up.Tsi wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 8:35 pmIt would be funnier if he ended up at EvertonCIH wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 3:57 pmI reckon Everton will poach Nuno, who is supposedly in talks with Crystal Palace, leaving them with a decision to make after losing out on several of their top targets. Talk about a gig in his own back yard.
There’s even a potential longevity around the opportunity with Rafa more so than say with the likes of Nuno.
Quite the narrative ..... don’t rule it out !!

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
Not that specific one, but he's a prime example too. They've run themselves into the ground through greed, and don't want to make any sacrifices to fix it. All these clubs that wanted in the super league could instead have one zoom call and all agree they're not going to continue paying over the odds for each other's players, and it would stop. But no, they'll keep trying to get a leg up on one another and somehow manage to go further in debt despite having machines that can generate insane levels of revenue.Tsi wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 8:33 pmDid you see the Laporta interview?Remember Colo wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 2:26 pm

Imagine getting your old job back at RM on the back of Everton's underachievement. Not to say Ancelloti isn't a great manager, he is - but it certainly isn't as if he's leveraged his performance there to make this happen.

Conte going to Spurs apparently. Great for them if they can pull it off…

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
I see Sky Sports tweet a new name “in talks” with Spurs literally every day. It’s as if they have a parent betting company and they want punters to lump money on the managerial market...
Nuno, Southgate, Martinez and Conte have all been “in talks”.

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
But has he muddled through the Championship before? Or have years of mediocre-to-terrible performance managing in the Premier League? However could he survive without that?

So Spurs in talks with the manager Roma effectively sacked to bring in Mourinho
